Los Angeles Mall
The Los Angeles Mall is a small shopping center and series of plazas (public squares) at the Los Angeles Civic Center, between Main and Los Angeles Streets on the north and south sides of Temple Street, connected by both a pedestrian bridge and a tunnel. It features Joseph Young's sculpture ''Triforium'', a colorful sculpture unveiled in 1975, which has 1,500 blown-glass prisms synchronized to an electronic glass bell carillon. The mall opened in 1974 and includes a four-level parking garage with 2,400 spaces. It stands on the site of what once was some of the oldest commercial blocks in the city that was demolished in the 1940s and 1950s. U.S. Route 101, or U.S. Highway 101 (US 101), is a major north–south highway that traverses the states of California, Oregon, and Washington on the West Coast of the United States. Belmont High School (Los Angeles)
Belmont Senior High School is a public high school located at 1575 West 2nd Street in the Westlake community of Los Angeles, California. The school, which serves grades 9 through 12, is part of the Los Angeles Unified School District. History Belmont High School opened in 1923. The Hotel Belmont was the first noteworthy building to stand atop Crown Hill, the present site of Belmont High School. Eventually, the hotel was abandoned, and later it was transformed into the private Belmont School for Girls. After the school was destroyed by fire, the grounds were left vacant, except for five oil wells and a pumping plant for the Los Angeles City Oil Field. Late Moderne is a phase of Moderne architecture as defined by the National Register of Historic Places. Style The Late Moderne style incorporates elements of both the Streamline Moderne and International architecture, International styles. The first examples could be seen in the late 1930s, however, late Moderne reached its zenith in large-scale government and commercial buildings during the late 1950s and the 1960s. The style can be detected by several trademark features, such as the Bezel (jewellery) , bezeled window, where a protruding flange resembling a bezel incorporates and outlines groups of windows. The Stanley Mosk Courthouse is a courthouse in Los Angeles, California home to the Los Angeles County Superior Court. It is located at 110 N. Grand Avenue and 111 N. Hill Street between Temple and First streets, lining Grand Park in the Civic Center in Downtown Los Angeles. The building was constructed in 1958 and has a floor area of in its west wing and in the east wing. It has 100 courtrooms, 840 daily workers and 7000 daily visitors.
