Lesley Selander
Lesley Selander (May 26, 1900 – December 5, 1979) was an American film director of Western (genre), Westerns and adventure film, adventure movies. His career as director, spanning 127 feature films and dozens of TV episodes, lasted from 1936 to 1968. Before that, Selander was assistant director on films such as ''The Cat and the Fiddle (film), The Cat and the Fiddle'' (1934), ''A Night at the Opera (film), A Night at the Opera'' (1935), and Fritz Lang's ''Fury (1936 film), Fury'' (1936). To this day Selander remains one of the most prolific directors of feature Westerns in cinema history, having taken the helm for 107 Westerns between his first directorial feature in 1936 and 1967. In 1956 he was nominated for the Directors Guild of America award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Television, for his work directing a 1954 episode of ''Lassie (1954 TV series), Lassie''. Frank Lackteen
Frank Lackteen (born Mohammed Hassan Lackteen August 29, 1897 – July 8, 1968) was an American film actor best known for his antagonistic roles. He appeared in nearly 200 films between 1915 and 1965, including several Three Stooges shorts. Biography Lackteen made his first American film in 1915 and was often seen as a villain in silent films. Many of his film appearances came in Westerns and serials. Lackteen was born in Kab-Elias, Lebanon, and attended an American school in Lebanon. He spent most of his childhood in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Hopalong Cassidy Films
From 1935 to 1948, 66 American Western films were produced featuring the character Hopalong Cassidy, played in all the films by actor William Boyd. The films were at the time collectively known as "Hoppies". In the films, Hopalong, or "Hoppy", and his white horse, Topper, travel through the Old West while dispensing justice, usually with two companions: one young and trouble-prone with a weakness for damsels in distress, the other older, comically awkward and outspoken. The juvenile lead was successively played by James Ellison, Russell Hayden, Jay Kirby, George Reeves, Rand Brooks, and Jimmy Rogers. Eddie Dean (singer)
Eddie Dean (born Edgar Dean Glosup; – ) was an American Western singer and actor. His smooth baritone impressed both Roy Rogers and Gene Autry, who considered Dean the best cowboy singer of all time. Eddie Dean's show-business career began in 1937, as a radio singer. Within the year Republic Pictures, a producer of low-budget western and action feature films, hired him to play incidental roles. He also joined the Hopalong Cassidy production team in 1938, and appeared in many Paramount westerns. Beginning in 1941, producers took notice of Dean's singing voice and gave him specialty numbers. In 1944 producer Walt Mattox hired Eddie Dean to support cowboy star Ken Maynard in the low-budget feature '' Harmony Trail''. This led to producer Robert Emmett Tansey approaching Dean to star in a radically new series of westerns, to be released by PRC. Eddy Waller
Edward Waller (June 14, 1889 – August 20, 1977) was an American stage, film and television actor. Early years Waller's involvement with dramatics began when he was a student at the University of Wisconsin. Career Stage Waller performed in vaudeville and the legitimate theater before he entered films in Hollywood. His professional stage debut came in Chicago, Illinois. An item published in ''The Indianapolis News'' May 3, 1923, reported, "He has had several years' experience as leading man and also as director, and produces the Grand Players' plays as well as taking the leading roles." Waller became noted for his character impersonations of elderly men on stage and screen. Film Waller appeared in more than 250 sound films between 1929 and 1963 (Thomas M.
