Stadium Of The Year
Stadium of the Year is an annual public poll organised by StadiumDB.com website, to select, through a public vote, the best football stadium completed in the year preceding the contest. The award is the largest public vote of its kind in the world. The contest is organised by StadiumDB.com and its twin site Stadiony.net, edited in Polish. In the 2014–2020 editions, jury voting was held separately, in addition to public polls. Since the 2024 edition, the contest will also be organised on the newly launched EstadiosDB.com site, edited in Spanish. Description In 2011 Stadiony.net web portal for the first time organised a competition in which readers could vote for the best football arena in their opinion, commissioned in 2010. The Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux, currently also known as the Matmut Atlantique for sponsorship purposes, is a football stadium in Bordeaux, France. It is the home of Ligue 2 club FC Girondins de Bordeaux and seats 42,115 spectators. History Construction began in November 2012 and ended in April 2015. The stadium was inaugurated on 18 May 2015. The Estadio BBVA, nicknamed "El Gigante de Acero" (Spanish for "The Steel Giant"), formerly known as the Estadio BBVA Bancomer, is a stadium developed by FEMSA and C.F. Monterrey in Guadalupe, Greater Monterrey. The stadium replaced the Estadio Tecnológico as the home of Monterrey, ending 63 years of residency at that stadium. The project was met with controversy, stemming from multiple accusations of the construction as an apparent impediment to wildlife growth on a local scale by deforesting 24.5 hectares of forest neighboring a natural protected area that houses 106 animal species, including 8 endangered or protected species such as the yellow headed parrot. Guadalupe, Nuevo León
Guadalupe is a city and surrounding municipality located in the state of Nuevo León, in northern Mexico. It is part of the Greater Monterrey Metropolitan area. The municipality of Guadalupe, which lies adjacent to the east side of Monterrey, also borders the municipalities of San Nicolás de los Garza, Apodaca, Pesquería, and Juárez. Allianz Parque (), also known as Palestra Itália Arena, is a multipurpose stadium in São Paulo, Brazil, built to receive shows, concerts, corporate events, and especially football matches of Palmeiras, the site owner.
