St Roch's F.C.
St Roch's Football Club is a Scotland, Scottish football (soccer), football club, based in Royston Road, Glasgow. Nicknamed ''"the Candy Rock"'', they were formed in 1920 and play at James McGrory Park. They currently compete in the . They wear green and white strips. St Roch's was the first club of Jimmy McGrory, the British record goalscorer with 550 goals. McGrory, who grew up in the Garngad area where the club originated, began playing for them aged just 11. After helping the club win the Scottish Junior Cup in 1922, scoring in the final, he joined Celtic F.C., Celtic the following season. Jimmy McGrory
James Edward McGrory (26 April 1904 – 20 October 1982) was a Scottish footballer who played for Celtic and Clydebank as a forward. He later managed Kilmarnock and Celtic. McGrory is also the all-time leading goalscorer in top-flight British football, with a total of 550 goals in 547 competitive first-team games at club and international level. McGrory is a legendary figure within Celtic's history. He is the club's top scorer of all time with 522 goals from 501 games and holds their record for the most goals in a season, with 62 goals from 46 games in the 1927–28 season. He has also notched up a British top-flight record of 55 hat-tricks, 48 coming in League games and seven from Scottish Cup ties. Garngad
Royston/Roystonhill is a district in the city of Glasgow, Scotland. It was previously known as The Garngad and is still known as such by residents that have a familial link and is still displayed in local shops and bars. It is notable for its large population of immigrants, mostly of Irish Catholic descent and African. Scottish Junior Cup
The Scottish Junior Cup is an annual football competition organised by the Scottish Junior Football Association (SJFA). The competition has been held every year since the inception of the SJFA on the 2nd October 1886 and, as of the 2023–24 edition, 112 teams compete in the tournament. The cup has an unseeded knockout format with no replays, semi-finals played over two legs, and the final usually played at a neutral venue of an SPFL club. Since the 2006–07 season, the winner of the Junior Cup Final has qualified for the following season's senior Scottish Cup. The competition is named the Clydebuilt Home Improvements Scottish Junior Cup for sponsorship reasons.
