St Isidore's
St Isidore's is a heritage-listed homestead at 40 Post Office Road, Mapleton, Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. It was built from to by James Blair Cramb. It is also known as Mapleton Homestead, Seaview House, and St Isidore's Farm College. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 28 July 2000. History This substantial, high-set timber residence was erected in the early 1900s in at least two stages, for pioneer Mapleton orchardist William James Smith and his family, at their Seaview Orchard at the top of the Blackall Range. In August 1923 the well-known Seaview Orchard was acquired by the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Brisbane, the Rev. James Duhig, who hoped to develop it as St Isidore's Farm College. Maroochydore
Maroochydore ( ) is a coastal town in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. The town was subdivided from the Cotton Tree reserve by Surveyor Thomas O'Connor in 1903. The land was acquired from William Pettigrew who had a timber depot at what is now Wharf Street. Its name comes from the Yuggera language word ''Muru-kutchi'', meaning red-bill and referring to the black swan, which is commonly seen in the area. Maroochydore is a major commercial area of the Sunshine Coast with most shopping precincts located in the central business district. Geography Poona Dam is an earth-fill embankment dam with a toe drain with an un-gated spillway across a tributary of the South Maroochy River. The main purpose of the dam is for storage of potable water for the Sunshine Coast region. History The name Kureelpa is reportedly derived from an Aboriginal name, ''Kuril-ba'', meaning a place of rats and mice. Moreton Central Sugar Mill Cane Tramway is a heritage-listed tramway at Mill Street, Currie Street, and Howard Street, in Nambour, Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. It was built . It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 7 February 2005. History The Moreton Central Sugar Mill opened for crushing in 1897. The tramway network that connected the mill with cane farms developed over many years and was in use until late 2003. It was a key factor in the success of the mill and the development of Nambour. The Shire of Maroochy was a local government area about north of Brisbane in the Sunshine Coast region of South East Queensland, Australia. The shire covered an area of , and existed as a local government entity from 1890 until 2008, when it amalgamated with its neighbours to the north and south to form the Sunshine Coast Region. Yandina () is a rural town and locality in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. In the the locality of Yandina had a population of 2,371 people. Geography Yandina is in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. The Bruce Highway runs through the locality from south to north, passing just east of the town. Wunderlich were a brand of decorative metal panels used for pressed metal ceilings and other architectural elements in Australia. History The Wunderlich company was established by Ernest Julius Wunderlich in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia in 1885. Initially the panels were imported from Berlin, Germany but later patents were taken out and the panels were manufactured in Australia.
