St Andrew's Football Club was a short-lived Scottish association football, football club based in the city of Glasgow. History The club was formed in 1874. Its first recorded match was a 1–0 win over the Ramblers F.C. (Scotland), Ramblers club at the latter's Queen's Park, Glasgow, Queen's Park ground, thanks to a goal "taken in capital style" by Marshall, who dribbled past the Ramblers' half-backs and putting in a shot just under the tape. St Andrew's had enough members to form two sides by 1875 as the second XI beat the Hamilton Academical F.C. second XI 1–0 in September that year. The club's only entry to the Scottish Cup was in 1875–76 Scottish Cup, 1875–76. Glasgow Green is a park in the east end of Glasgow, Scotland, on the north bank of the River Clyde. Established in the 15th century, it is the oldest park in the city. Lancefield is a town in the Shire of Macedon Ranges local government area in Victoria, Australia north of the state capital, Melbourne and had a population of 2,743 at the 2021 census. History The area was used by the indigenous aboriginal people as a quarry site for the manufacture of stone axes and was first settled by European squatters in 1837. The main source of these stone tools was at Mount William, to the north east of Lancefield. A Lancefield Post Office opened on 16 January 1858 in the Romsey/Five Mile Creek area, to the south. 1875–76 Scottish Cup
The 1875–76 Scottish Cup – officially the Scottish Football Association Challenge Cup – was the third season of Scotland's most prestigious football knockout competition. The number of entrants nearly doubled from the previous season with 49 teams included in the first round draw. The competition began on 2 October 1875 and concluded with the final replay on 18 March 1876. This was the first season that teams would only change ends at half time, the tradition of changing ends after a goal had been scored came to an end. The cup was won for the third time by Queen's Park who defeated fellow Glasgow club 3rd Lanark RV 2–0 in the replayed final. Format As with the previous competitions, the third edition of the Scottish Cup took on the format of a traditional knockout tournament.
