St. Mary's Stadium-Kitende
St. Mary's Stadium-Kitende is a Ugandan sports stadium for the Sports Club Vipers SC, a football club playing in Uganda's top league Uganda Premier League. Its capacity is 15,000 with more than 1,000 VIP seats. On 3 March 2017, the African football governing body, CAF, cleared the then newly constructed St Mary's Stadium to host football games. St. Mary's stadium is the home of SC Vipers, located in Kitende on Entebbe Road and was built by the club patron and former FUFA president, Lawrence Mulindwa. It is an artificial turf pitch stadium. Entebbe, Central Region
Entebbe is a city in Central Uganda. Located on a Lake Victoria peninsula, approximately southwest of the Ugandan capital city, Kampala. Entebbe was once the seat of government for the Protectorate of Uganda prior to independence, in 1962. Vipers SC
Vipers SC is a football club based in Kampala, Uganda. They are nicknamed the Venoms or Nyokas (Snakes in Kiswahili). History The club was founded as Bunamwaya FC in 1969. Vipers SC have played in the Uganda Premier League since 2006 after winning the Wakiso District and Super Mini League promotion league in 2005. They have finished in the top half of the table every year since the 2006–07 season. With the backing of president Lawrence Mulindwa, the club signed several important players for the 2010 season, including seven members of the Ugandan National Team at the time. Bunamwaya won their first ever Uganda Premier League title with two rounds to spare. They did not participate in the 2011 CAF Champions League for financial reasons. Uganda National Football Team
The Uganda national football team (nicknamed ''The Cranes''), represents Uganda in men's international football and is controlled by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations, which is a part of CAF. The Ugandan Premier League, also known as the StarTimes Uganda Premier League for sponsorship reasons, is the top division of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations. The league was previously known as the Uganda Super League but changed in the 2014–15 season after new management taking over. The league's roots date back to 1968 when the National First Division League was established. FUFA
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) is the governing body of association football in Uganda. The association was founded in 1924, became affiliated with FIFA in 1960 and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in 1961. In 1973, FUFA went ahead and got affiliated with CECAFA. Lawrence Mulindwa
Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa is a Ugandan teacher, business man and entrepreneur who serves as the director and president of a football club Vipers SC. He is the former president of the Uganda football governing board FUFA for nine straight years, and he was the second longest serving FUFA president after Kabaka Daudi Chwa in (1924-1932). He is also the executive director and former Head teacher of the school St. Mary's secondary school Kitende. He was born in 1965 at Kanyike Kamengo, Mpigi and he is Vipers SC's majority shareholder and a back bone of the four-time Uganda Premier League winners with 90% shares. The Mandela National Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Uganda. It is named after the South African then-President and anti-apartheid icon, Nelson Mandela.
