St. Louis And Oklahoma City Railroad
The St. Louis and Oklahoma City Railroad (STLOC) was a railway existing between its corporate formation in 1895 and the conveyance of all its assets to a predecessor of the St. Louis and San Francisco Railway (Frisco) in 1899. STLOC built a line between Sapulpa and Oklahoma City in 1898, being 103.2 miles in length. History A Frisco predecessor, the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad, had built into Sapulpa in the 1885-1886 timeframe. Against that backdrop, two Oklahoma City businessmen incorporated STLOC on November 20, 1895, under the laws of the then Territory of Oklahoma, for the purpose of running a line from Sapulpa to Oklahoma City. However, they completed no actual construction by February 10, 1898, on which date they passed control of the company to the railroad's construction contractor, Indianoma Construction Company. Atlantic And Pacific Railroad
The Atlantic and Pacific Railroad was an American railroad that owned or operated two individual segments of track. One connected St. Louis, Missouri, with Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the other connected Albuquerque, New Mexico, with Needles in Southern California. It was incorporated by the U.S. Congress in 1866 as a transcontinental railroad connecting Springfield, Missouri, and Van Buren, Arkansas, with California. The central portion was never constructed, and the two halves later became parts of the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway and Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway systems, now both merged into the BNSF Railway. Stillwater Central Railroad
Stillwater Central Railroad is a shortline railroad operating in Oklahoma. A subsidiary of Watco, the SLWC operates over of track in the state from Sapulpa through Oklahoma City through Lawton to Snyder and has trackage rights over BNSF from Sapulpa to Tulsa, and from Snyder to Long. SLWC operates a branch from Stillwater to a connection with BNSF at Pawnee. Its primary business is handling mined, mineral, and industrial products.
