St. Faith's
St Faith's is a village in the Umzumbe Local Municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. Geography St Faith's lies on the rolling hills of the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, approximately 50 km (31 mi) north-west of Port Shepstone and 158 km (98 mi) south-west of Durban. There are a number of settlements falling under St Faith's: uMqangqala, Nothinwta, Dweshula, Thaleni, Ngoleleni, Zitendeni, Siqhingini, Junction, Diphini, Maromeni and Ivethe. Infrastructure Junction is the connecting centre along the Provincial Road which hosts a variety of small businesses. St Faith's hosts a police station and a community health clinic. Umtentweni
Umtentweni, also officially known as eMthenteni, is a small coastal resort on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, between the Mzimkulu River ''(the great home of all rivers)'' and the Mtentweni River (named after a species of grass that grows on its banks). It forms part of the coastal town of Port Shepstone in the Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality (part of the Ugu District Municipality), KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It is a relatively clean and quiet residential resort; it has become an attractive destination for people aiming to get away from city life. Most of the village is filled with complexes, flats, bed and breakfasts and suburban-style houses. Twenty years ago the whole of Umtentweni consisted of a lot of greenery and wildlife. N2 (South Africa)
The N2 is a national route in South Africa that runs from Cape Town through George, Gqeberha, East London, Mthatha, Port Shepstone and Durban to Ermelo. It is the main highway along the Indian Ocean coast of the country. Its current length of makes it the longest numbered route in South Africa. Prior to 1970, the N2 designation only applied to the route from Cape Town to Durban. There are plans to realign the N2 national route from Port Shepstone to Mthatha along a shorter stretch of road that passes through Port Edward, Lusikisiki and Port St. Johns. The project was initially scheduled for completion in 2024 and is expected to reduce the length of the route by . Ixopo
Ixopo, also known as Stuartstown, is a town situated on a tributary of the uMkhomazi River along the R56 highway in the midlands of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Background The town was laid out in 1878 and named after M Stuart, Resident Magistrate of the surrounding district, who was killed at the Battle of Ingogo in 1881. Its name is derived from the Zulu onomatopoeic word, ''eXobo'', describing the sound made as cattle squelch through mud. The 'x', in Zulu, is pronounced as a lateral click. The town is most famously described by Alan Paton in the opening lines of Cry, The Beloved Country: "There is a lovely road which runs from Ixopo into the hills. Port Shepstone
Port Shepstone is a large town situated on the mouth of the Mzimkhulu River, the largest river on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast of South Africa. It is located halfway between Hibberdene and Margate, KwaZulu-Natal, Margate and is positioned 120 km south of Durban. It serves as the administrative, educational, industrial and commercial centre for KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, southern Natal. History Port Shepstone was founded in 1867 when marble was discovered near the Mzimkhulu River mouth and is named after Sir Theophilus Shepstone of the Natal government of the 1880s. KwaZulu-Natal South Coast
The KwaZulu-Natal South Coast (better known as the KZN South Coast or just the South Coast) is a region along the southern stretch of coastline of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, south of the coastal city of Durban. South African Standard Time
South African Standard Time (SAST) is the time zone used by all of South Africa as well as Eswatini and Lesotho. The zone is two hours ahead of UTC ( UTC+02:00) and is the same as Central Africa Time. Daylight saving time is not observed in either time zone. Solar noon in this time zone occurs at 30° E in SAST, effectively making Pietermaritzburg at the correct solar noon point, with Johannesburg and Pretoria slightly west at 28° E and Durban slightly east at 31° E. Thus, most of South Africa's population experience true solar noon at approximately 12:00 daily. The western Northern Cape and Western Cape differ, however.
