Squash In India
Squash (sport), Squash is a recreational sport in India but is slowly gaining popularity as a competitive sport. It is governed by the Squash Rackets Federation of India. The India men's national squash team has participated in three quarter finals of the World Team Squash Championships since 1967. Dipika Pallikal, Joshna Chinappa and Saurav Ghosal have been among the top ranked Indian squash players. Dipika was the first Indian woman to break into the top 10 Official Women's Squash World Ranking, women's world rankings in 2012. Saurav achieved his career high of 10 to become the highest ranked Indian male player in 2019. History Squash was introduced to India by the British Armed Forces; the sport has been played before World War I. Squash Rackets Federation Of India
The Squash Rackets Federation of India aka SRFI is the Indian governing body for the game of squash (sport), squash. It conducts the National Squash Championship, promotes the game through the state squash bodies, provides training facilities, selects the squad, and chooses coaches for the national team. Among the facilities created by the SRFI is the Indian Squash Academy. It hosted the 2007 World Team Squash Championship, World Team Championship. Official Women's Squash World Ranking
The Women's Squash World Rankings are the official world rankings for women's squash. The WISPA Wispa is a brand of chocolate bar manufactured by British chocolate company Cadbury. Using aerated chocolate, the bar was launched in 1981 as a trial version in North East England, and with its success it was introduced nationally in 1983. 2015 Commonwealth Youth Games
The 2015 Commonwealth Youth Games, officially known as the V Commonwealth Youth Games, and commonly known as Samoa 2015, was the fifth Commonwealth Youth Games which started in the year 2000. It was held from 5 to 11 September, 2015 in Apia, the capital of Samoa. Samoa were the only bidders for the Games. All events took place in the capital city, Apia. The opening and closing ceremonies were held in Apia Park, which also hosted the athletics, rugby and tennis competitions. Early life Senthilkumar was born March 26, 1998 in Salem, Tamil Nadu, India to Shanmukham Priyadharshini and Ramasamy Senthilkumar. Laura Jane Massaro (née Lengthorn; born 2 November 1983) is an English retired professional squash player. She was ranked number 1 in the world. Biography She was born in Great Yarmouth and attended Albany High School, Chorley, which is now called Albany Academy. In July 2007, she married Danny Massaro and became Laura Lengthorn-Massaro. Jennifer Duncalf (born 10 November 1982) is a former professional squash player from England. She reached a career-high world ranking of World No. 2 in December 2009. Biography Duncalf was born in Haarlem, Netherlands, but was a pupil at Harrogate Grammar School where she attended from 1994 to 2001. Dipika Pallikal (born 21 September 1991) is an Indian professional squash player. She was the first Indian player to break into the top 10 in the world rankings. Early life Pallikal was born in Kottayam into a Malayali family. She is the daughter of Sanjiv Pallikal and Susan Pallikal. Her mother played international cricket for the Indian women's team, including India's inaugural women's Test match, in 1976. Career Pallikal turned professional in 2006, but her career was filled with ups and downs initially.
