Gerald Norman Springer (February 13, 1944 – April 27, 2023) was a British-American broadcaster, journalist, actor, lawyer, and politician. He was best known for hosting the controversial tabloid talk show '' Jerry Springer'' from 1991 to 2018. Springer was noted as a pioneer in the emergence of " trash TV"; his eponymous show was a "commercial smash and certifiable cultural phenomenon" in the 1990s. English Springer Spaniel
The English Springer Spaniel is a breed of gun dog in the Spaniel group traditionally used for flushing and retrieving game. They are descended from the Norfolk or Shropshire Spaniels of the mid-19th century; the breed has diverged into separate show and working lines. It is closely related to the Welsh Springer Spaniel and very closely to the English Cocker Spaniel; less than a century ago, springers and cockers would come from the same litter. The smaller "cockers" were used in woodcock hunting while their larger littermates were used to flush, or "spring", other game birds. Welsh Springer Spaniel
The Welsh Springer Spaniel (''Welsh'': ''Llamgi Cymru'' or ''Tarfgi Cymru'') is a dog breed, breed of dog and a member of the spaniel family. Thought to be comparable to the old Land Spaniel, they are similar to the English Springer Spaniel and historically have been referred to as both the Welsh Spaniel and the Welsh Cocker Spaniel. They were relatively unknown until a succession of victories in dog trials by the breed increased its popularity. Following recognition by The Kennel Club in 1902, the breed gained the modern name of Welsh Springer Spaniel. The breed's coat only comes in a single colour combination of white with red markings, usually in a piebald pattern. Springer (born ), officially named A73, is a wild orca from the List of northern resident killer whale pods, Northern Resident Community of orcas, which frequents the waters off the northern part of Vancouver Island every summer. In January 2002, Springer, then a calf developmentally equivalent to a human toddler, was discovered alone and emaciated some 250 miles from the territory of her family (called a "pod"). Experts identified Springer by her whale song, vocal calls that are specific to her pod, and by examining photographs of her eye patch. They were also able to determine where Springer's pod was currently located. After months of heated public debate, a decision was made by the United States National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) to capture the young orca and attempt to reintegrate her into her pod. In architecture, a springer (sometimes springing) is the lowest voussoir (wedge-shaped structural element) on each side of an arch. Since it is the bottom-most element of the arch, it is where the arch support terminates at the respond. Big Spring, Texas was home to several minor league baseball teams between 1928 and 1955. The Hamlin Pied Pipers moved from Hamlin, Texas to Big Spring during the 1928 season and became the Big Spring Springers, who finished 6th in the West Texas League that season, 21 games out of first place under manager Armistead "Army" Magness. The team changed its name to the Big Spring Cowboys the following year and were at one point during the season managed by Nick Carter. They dissolved following the season. In 1938, the Big Spring Barons joined the West Texas–New Mexico League, before they moved to Odessa, Texas during the 1940 season and became the Odessa Oilers.
