NBC Sports Bay Area
NBC Sports Bay Area (sometimes abbreviated as NBCS Bay Area) is an American regional sports network owned as a joint venture between NBCUniversal and the San Francisco Giants, and operates as an affiliate of NBC Sports Regional Networks. Headquartered in San Francisco, the channel broadcasts regional coverage of professional sports events throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. NBCS Bay Area's sister channel is NBC Sports California. The president of the network is Ted Griggs. History Pacific Sports Network The Pacific Sports Network was launched in September 1989 as a joint-venture of Tele-Communications Inc., TCI and Viacom (1952–2006), Viacom. San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers (also written as the San Francisco Forty-Niners) are a professional American football team based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The 49ers compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the league's National Football Conference (NFC) West division, and play their home games at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, located southeast of San Francisco. The team is named after the prospectors who arrived in Northern California in the 1849 Gold Rush. The team was founded in 1946 as a charter member of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC), and joined the NFL in 1949 when the leagues merged. Allen Samuel "Roxy" Bernstein (born September 25, 1972) is an American sportscaster for ESPN, the Pac-12 Network, and the Oakland Athletics. Early life and career Bernstein was born in San Francisco and grew up on the Peninsula in the Bay Area. After graduating from Pinewood School in Los Altos, California, Bernstein went on to the University of California, Berkeley and graduated with a degree in American Studies. While at Cal, Bernstein broadcast football, men's and women's basketball, and baseball and served as sports director of the student radio station, KALX (FM). Damon Matthew Bruce (born March 25, 1975) is an American sports radio host who currently hosts ''Damon and Ratto'' (with Ray Ratto) on KGMZ-FM "95.7 the Game" in San Francisco, California. An Indiana University Bloomington graduate, Bruce began his radio career in the late 1990s as a producer with KNBR in San Francisco. He later hosted ''Sports Overnight America'' and became a reporter for the ESPN Radio and Sporting News Radio networks. After stints in Columbus, Ohio and Fort Wayne, Indiana, Bruce re-joined KNBR 680 in 2005 to host ''Sportsphone 680''.
