SportsCafe
''SportsCafe'' was a New Zealand sports TV show. The show's original run was hosted by Lana Coc-Kroft, Marc Ellis, Leigh Hart, Graeme Hill, Ric Salizzo and reporter Eva Evguenieva. In 2001 Leigh Hart was added to the cast under his persona of 'That Guy'. The show first screened on New Zealand television in 1996 on Sky Sport; however, those without a Sky subscription could view ''SportsCafe'' without a UHF Sky decoder by tuning their TV to the Sky Sport UHF channel, as the signal was not scrambled during this show. In 2002, ''SportsCafe'' moved to Sky 1, but it did not attract enough ratings, causing it to move to the free-to-air market, where it moved in February 2003 to TV2 (TVNZ 2). It featured interviews with current sports stars and comical skits about sports. Each episode lasted 60 minutes, including commercials. Ric Salizzo
Riccardo Michele Salizzo (born 22 July 1962) is a New Zealand journalist, television presenter and producer. He is best known for producing and presenting long-running sports chat show ''SportsCafe'', as well as executive producing and occasionally presenting sports current events show '' The Crowd Goes Wild''. Early career Ric Salizzo began a career as a newsreader at radio station Whakatane's Radio 1XX. This was followed by a number of other news reading positions at private radio stations, before moving to London to work at a radio news agency there. Television career In 1986, Salizzo returned to New Zealand to fill a vacancy at television station TVNZ's ''One News'' sports reporting team. Marc Ellis (rugby)
Marc Christopher Gwynne Ellis (born 8 October 1971) is a New Zealand businessman, television presenter, and former rugby union and rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s. A graduate of the University of Otago, his primary business interest was in Charlie's, a juice company. During the 1995 Rugby World Cup he scored six tries in the game against Japan national rugby union team, Japan, which is the record for the most tries by an individual in a Rugby World Cup match. Rugby union Ellis started out for Otago Rugby Union, Otago in 1991, and earned All Black selection in 1992. In 1995 Ellis was re-called to the All Blacks for the 1995 Rugby World Cup, World Cup, playing five games on the wing. Leigh Hart
Leigh Hart (born 20 July 1970) is a New Zealand comedian, radio announcer and performance artist who is also known as "That Guy". He has made various appearances on New Zealand television, including ''SportsCafe'' and his own show, '' Moon TV''. Early life and education Hart was born in Greymouth. He lived overseas with his family for ten years, including four years in Peru. His family returned to New Zealand when he was eleven. He attended Christ's College in Christchurch before spending a year at the University of Canterbury. After working on the Channel Tunnel for two-and-a-half years in the early 1990s, he returned to Christchurch and then founded the rock band "Wild Turkey" with his brother Greg and friend Matt Johnson. The band suspended activities in 1994 after being briefly jailed in France for visa irregularities and then deported. Lana Coc-Kroft
Lana Coc-Kroft (born 1967) is a New Zealand actress and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe New Zealand 1988 and represented her country at Miss Universe 1988. Coc-Kroft began her television career appearing in ''Sale of the Century'', and in 1991 on the New Zealand version of '' Wheel of Fortune'' as the co-host with Phillip Leishman, later Simon Barnett. She continued in this role until the show ended in 1996. In 1994 she fronted the extreme sports show ''On The Edge'' for five years, where she went diving with sharks, parachuting, caving and extreme rafting in New Zealand and around the world. During the late 1990s she hosted 91ZM breakfast radio with Marcus Lush, leaving in 2002. In 1999 she co-hosted "The Lipstick Lunch" on ZM, which was networked nationwide in 2000.
