Spokane Bombing Attempt
The Spokane bombing attempt occurred on January 17, 2011, when a radio-controlled shaped-charge Land mine was found and defused in Spokane, Washington, along the route of that year's Martin Luther King Jr. memorial march. On March 9, 2011, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arrested Kevin William Harpham, 36, of Addy, Washington, a white supremacist who acted alone (a " lone wolf"). On December 20, 2011, he was sentenced to 32 years in prison for the attempted bombing. Colville, Washington
Colville is a city in Stevens County, Washington, United States. The population was 4,917 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Stevens County. History John Work, an agent for The Hudson's Bay Company, established Fort Colvile near the Kettle Falls fur trading site in 1825. It replaced the Spokane House and the Flathead Post as the main trading center on the Upper Columbia River. The area was named for Andrew Colvile, a Hudson's Bay Company governor. The National Alliance was a white supremacist, neo-Nazi political organization founded by William Luther Pierce in 1974 and based in Mill Point, West Virginia. It was formed out of a split in the National Youth Alliance, an organization run by Pierce, a former member of the American Nazi Party, and Willis Carto.
