The Spikers’ Turf Collegiate Conference was the 5th conference of the Spikers' Turf that started on July 30, 2016 and ended on September 10, 2016, games were held at the Ynares Sports Arena and PhilSports Arena. There were twelve (12) competing teams in this conference. Ynares Sports Arena
The Ynares Sports Arena is an indoor arena located in Pasig, Philippines. The stadium has hosted the basketball games of the Philippine Basketball Association, Philippine Basketball League, and Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League, as well as college basketball tournaments. The arena was built in the former location of Rizal's provincial capitol. It was the primary home venue of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) teams Philippine Patriots and the San Miguel Beermen. The Beermen notably lost the deciding game of the 2012 ABL Finals to the Indonesia Warriors in the arena. It has hosted games of the UNTV Cup and it is currently the home arena of the Pasig Sta. PhilSports Arena
The Philippine Institute of Sports Multi-Purpose Arena or PhilSports Arena is an indoor sporting arena located inside the PhilSports Complex in Pasig, Philippines. It was formerly known as the University of Life Theater and Recreational Arena or the ULTRA. The arena is part of the PhilSports Complex which is maintained by the Philippine Sports Commission. It was the site of the majority of the games of the Philippine Basketball Association from 1985 to 1992 and from 1999 to 2002. The league still occasionally comes back to play at the arena. The arena was also the home court of the Pasig-Rizal Pirates in the Metropolitan Basketball Association in 1998 and the San Juan Knights in 1999. Spikers' Turf
The Spikers' Turf is a men's semi-professional volleyball league in the Philippines associated with the Sports Vision Management Group, Inc. (Sports Vision). History The league had its beginnings in 2014, when the Shakey's V-League introduced a men's division during its 21st conference. The following year, Sports Vision decided to spin-off the men's division as a separate league, giving birth to the Spikers' Turf. In late-2016, Sports Vision announced that the league be merged back in the 2017 season with the Shakey's V-League (which was renamed as the Premier Volleyball League; PVL). The men's division in the PVL ended with the 2018 PVL Collegiate Conference as its final tournament. Marck Jesus Paguirigan Espejo (born March 1, 1997) is a Filipino volleyball athlete currently playing for Incheon Korean Air Jumbos, his first stint in V-League (South Korea). Esmilzo Joner "Ish" Polvorosa (born March 22, 1997) is a Filipino volleyball player who plays for the Philippine national team. Personal life Polvorosa was born and raised in Imus, Cavite. He graduated as second honorable mention at Anabu II Elementary School and studied middle school at Unida Christian Colleges. Madzlan Gampong is a Filipino volleyball player who plays for Sarawak Hornbill of the Malaysia Volleyball League. Career College A native of Simunul, Tawi-Tawi, Gampong played for the National University (NU) NU Bulldogs volleyball team at the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). He was the topscorer for the Bulldogs in UAAP Season 77.
