Space Cadet (2025 Film)
''Space Cadet'' is a 2025 Canadian animated film directed by Kid Koala in his directorial debut from his 2011 graphic novel of the same name. Adapted for film by Mylene Chollet, it is a dialogue-free musical fable about a young astronaut and her guardian robot which explores grief, loss and love across generations. The film is a tomorrow-days lullaby about finding your place in the universe. The film had its world premiere at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival on 16 February 2025 in the Generation Kplus section. Content Robot was created with a singular mission: to nurture and guide Celeste, transforming her into the happy and brilliant scientist she is today. As Celeste embarks on her maiden interstellar mission as a young Space Cadet, Robot finds himself alone, his purpose seemingly fulfilled. Kid Koala
Eric Yick Keung San (born December 5, 1974), better known by his stage name Kid Koala, is a Canadian scratch DJ, music producer, theatre producer, film composer, multimedia-performer and visual artist. His career began as a scratch DJ in 1994. Kid Koala works with genres as eclectic as hip hop, ambient, alternative, contemporary classical, blues, classic rock, and traditional jazz. He has released 5 solo albums on Ninja Tune, and 3 on Arts & Crafts Records, the most recent being ''Music to Draw To: IO'' featuring Trixie Whitley. He has also released two award-winning graphic novels: ''Nufonia Must Fall'' and ''Space Cadet''. He has been a member of Deltron 3030, Lovage, and the Slew, and has collaborated with artists such as Gorillaz and the Afiara String Quartet. The Berlin International Film Festival (), usually called the Berlinale (), is an annual film festival held in Berlin, Germany. The 2025 Annecy International Animation Film Festival took place from 8 to 14 June 2025, in Annecy, France.
