Soviet Men's Handball Championship
The Soviet Union Handball Championship was the highest level for men's club handball in the Soviet Union, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. The competition was successively dominated by three clubs: CSKA Moscow and its nine titles, including eight between 1973 and 1983 succeeded by Moscow Aviation Institute, MAI Moscow and its seven titles between 1965 and 1975 and then comes the dominance of SKA Minsk and its six titles, including five between 1984 and 1989. These three clubs are also the only three to have won the EHF Champions League, European Cup of Champion Clubs (respectively two, one and three times). European Handball Federation
The European Handball Federation (EHF) is the umbrella organisation for European handball. Founded on 17 November 1991, it is made of 50 member federations and two associated federations (England and Scotland), and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria. History EHF was founded on 17 November 1991 in Berlin, Germany, although the first EHF Congress convened on 5 June 1992 and assigned EHF's headquarters to Vienna, Austria from 1 September that year. In 2012 the EHF Office celebrated 20 years since it first opened its doors. In the subsequent years, the number of member countries has expanded from the initial 29 to its current number of 50, after Kosovo was granted full membership at the EHF Congress in Dublin, Ireland in September 2014. KSK Luch Moscow
KSK Luch Moscow is a Russian women's handball club from Moscow. Founded in 1959 as Trud Moscow, it took its current name in 1966. The team enjoyed its golden era in the 1960s, winning the third edition of the European Cup and five of the seven first editions of the Soviet Championship. Luch gradually declined in subsequent years, making it into the championship's top three for the last time in 1975. Following the break-up of the Soviet Union Luch has played in the Russian Super League.
