As a knockout tournament it was conducted parallel to the All-Union league competitions in double round-robin format. The winner of the competition was awarded a qualification to the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, unless it already qualified for the European Cup, in turn passed the qualification to the finalist. Central Dynamo Stadium
Central Dynamo Stadium was a stadium in Moscow, Russia. It was built in 1928 and held 36,540 people. It was the home ground for Dynamo Moscow. It was central venue of the All-Soviet Dynamo sports society and carried special name of ''Central'' to denote its importance. Until the construction of the Central Lenin Stadium in 1956, the Central Dynamo Stadium was the central sports facility in Moscow. The stadium was one of the venues of the football tournament of the 1980 Summer Olympics. A new stadium was built on the same spot and is named VTB Arena. History Dynamo Stadium, designed by the architects and , dates from 1928. In 1938 the Dinamo station of the Moscow Metro opened nearby. FC Electrosila Leningrad (russian: Электросила Ленинград) or Krasnaya Zorya (russian: Красная Заря) was a Soviet association football club from Leningrad, Soviet Union. The club played in the Soviet Top League from its inception to World War II. Until 1930 Krasnaya Zorya played in local competitions of Leningrad city and later in the city championship. FC Dynamo Moscow (''FC Dynamo Moskva'', russian: Дина́мо Москва́ ) is a Russian football club based in Moscow. Dynamo returned to the Russian Premier League for the 2017–18 season after one season in the second-tier Russian Football National League. FC Dinamo Tbilisi ( ka, დინამო თბილისი, ) is a Georgian professional football club based in Tbilisi, Georgia, that competes in the Erovnuli Liga, the top flight of Georgian football. Dinamo Tbilisi was one of the most prominent clubs in Soviet football and a major contender in the Soviet Top League almost immediately after it was established in 1936. The club was then part of one of the leading sport societies in the Soviet Union, the All-Union Dynamo sports society which had several other divisions besides football and was sponsored by the Soviet Ministry of Internal Affairs. 1936 Soviet Cup Final
The 1936 Soviet Cup Final was a football match that took place at the Dynamo Stadium, Moscow on August 28, 1936. The match was the first Soviet Cup final and it was contested by Lokomotiv Moscow and Dinamo Tbilisi. At one point the competition was decided to be the Soviet championship by the Olympic system of elimination, but later it was decided to keep the already existing championship and create a new one called the Cup of the Supreme Council of Fitness and Sport.
