Southern California Jewish Sports Hall Of Fame
The Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, in Beverly Hills, California, is a hall of fame dedicated to honoring American Jews, American Jewish athletes, other sports personalities, and teams from Southern California who have distinguished themselves in sports. History The Hall of Fame was established in 1990 by a group of men and women organized by former All-America basketball player Eli Sherman. It is located in Bel Air, California, at the American Jewish University. It honors Southern California Jewish athletes, coaches, officials, media, executives, and others at both professional and non-professional levels. It also supports the Maccabiah Games in Israel, Jewish Community Center, JCC Maccabi Games, and the Allan Malamud Memorial Scholarship Fund. It has honored over 300 Jewish men, women, and teams. Merrill Moses
Merrill M. Moses (born August 13, 1977) is a United States Olympic silver medalist, three-time Olympian, and three-time Pan American Games gold medalist water polo goalkeeper. He played college water polo for Pepperdine University, where he was an All-American and helped lead the team to the 1997 NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship. Moses is now associate head coach in water polo at Pepperdine. Early and personal life Moses was born in Harbor City, California, to Max, an orthopedic surgeon, and Marlene Moses. He is Jewish. Taylor Mays (born February 7, 1988) is an American former professional football player who was a safety in the National Football League (NFL). He won Washington state titles in track in both the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash as a high school sophomore, before leaving track and field to dedicate himself to football. He played college football for the USC Trojans, and was a three-time first-team All-American. He was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the second round of the 2010 NFL draft and also played in the NFL for the Cincinnati Bengals and Oakland Raiders, playing in 66 regular season NFL games. Max Dorian Fried ( ; born January 18, 1994) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the Atlanta Braves. Fried was selected by the San Diego Padres in the first round, seventh overall of the 2012 MLB draft. He was traded to the Braves in 2014, and made his MLB debut with them in 2017.
