National People's Party (India)
The National People's Party is a national political party in India. It is mostly concentrated in Meghalaya. Founded by P. A. Sangma after his expulsion from the NCP in July 2012, it was accorded national party status on 7 June 2019. It is the first political party from North-Eastern India to have attained this status. History On 6 January 2013, P. A. Sangma launched the party at the national level. He announced an alliance with the National Democratic Alliance led by Bharatiya Janta Party. Tura (IPA: ˈtʊərə) is a municipality in the West Garo Hills district of the Indian state of Meghalaya. One of the largest towns in Meghalaya, Tura is located in the foothills of the Nokrek range of Garo Hills. The climate in Tura is moderate throughout the year, and the town has many interesting and unexplored areas. Tura is a cultural and administrative centre of the Garo (tribe), Garo tribe. West Garo Hills is an administrative district in Garo Hills of the state of Meghalaya in India. Tura, Meghalaya, Tura town is the administrative headquarters of the district. The district occupies an area of 3714 km². In 2011, its population was 643,291.
