The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SC DHEC or DHEC) was the government agency responsible for public health and the environment in the U.S. state of South Carolina. It was created in 1973 from the merger of the South Carolina State Board of Health and the South Carolina Pollution Control Authority. It was dissolved into two agencies in July 1, 2024, the Department of Public Health (DPH) and the Department of Environmental Services.
