''Sounds from the Void'' is the fifth extended play (EP) by English rock band Creeper. Produced by the band's guitarist Ian Miles, the collection of acoustic cover versions was initially released in the form of two individual songs during the summer of 2020, before the full three-track EP was issued on streaming platforms on 14 May 2021. Background Creeper first announced ''Sounds from the Void'' on 14 May 2020, at the same time as their second album ''Sex, Death & the Infinite Void'' was delayed to July that year. The first track of the series, a cover of King Dude's "Spiders in Her Hair" performed by vocalist Will Gould and guitarist Ian Miles, followed the next day. On 9 July, a cover of Neil Young and Crazy Horse's "My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue)" followed, which Gould revealed had been the inspiration for the band's early song "Into the Black", featured on their 2014 self-titled debut EP. Creeper (band)
Creeper are an English Rock music, rock band from Southampton. Formed in 2014, the group originally featured vocalist Will Gould, guitarists Ian Miles and Sina Nemati, bassist Sean Scott, and drummer Dan Bratton. The band independently released their Creeper (EP), self-titled debut EP in 2014, before signing with Roadrunner Records and issuing follow-up ''The Callous Heart'' the next year. At the end of 2015, Nemati was replaced by Oliver Burdett and touring keyboardist/second vocalist Hannah Greenwood became an official band member. A third EP, ''The Stranger (EP), The Stranger'', was released in 2016 and reached the UK Rock & Metal Singles and Albums Charts, UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart top ten. Crazy Horse (band)
Crazy Horse is an American rock band best known for their association with the musician Neil Young. Since 1969, fifteen studio albums and eight live albums have been billed as being by Neil Young and Crazy Horse. They have also released six studio albums of their own between 1971 and 2009. Billy Talbot (bass) and Ralph Molina (drums) have been the only consistent members of the band across its fifty-five years. Founding guitarist Danny Whitten died in 1972 after recording two studio albums, '' Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere'' (with Young) and ''Crazy Horse''. Daniel Rey
Daniel Rey (born Daniel Rabinowitz) is an American musician, record producer and songwriter from New York City, best known for his work with the punk rock band Ramones. As a teenager Rey played in punk band Shrapnel, which also featured Dave Wyndorf, later of Monster Magnet. Shrapnel put out two 45 singles (Combat Love and Go Cruisin') and a five-song self-titled e.p., and played CBGB regularly in their brief career. He first collaborated with the Ramones on their 1984 album '' Too Tough to Die'', where he co-wrote the song "Daytime Dilemma (Dangers of Love)" with Joey Ramone, and from there produced three of the band's albums, '' Halfway to Sanity'', '' Brain Drain'' and '' ¡Adios Amigos!''. Douglas Glenn Colvin (September 18, 1951 – June 5, 2002), better known by his stage name Dee Dee Ramone, was an American musician. He was the bassist, occasional lead vocalist and a founding member of the punk rock band the Ramones. Throughout the band's existence, he was the most prolific lyricist and composer, writing many of their best-known songs, such as " 53rd & 3rd", "Chinese Rock", "Commando", "Wart Hog", " Rockaway Beach", " Poison Heart" and " Bonzo Goes To Bitburg" (also known as "My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down"). "Pet Sematary" is a single by American punk rock band Ramones, from their 1989 album '' Brain Drain''. The song, originally written for the Stephen King 1989 film adaptation of the same name, became one of the Ramones' biggest radio hits and was a staple of their concerts during the 1990s. The song plays over the film’s credits. Background King, a huge Ramones fan, invited the Ramones to his Bangor, Maine home as they played in New England. During the visit, he handed Dee Dee Ramone a copy of his '' Pet Sematary'' novel, and the bassist retreated to the basement. One hour later, Dee Dee returned with the lyrics to "Pet Sematary". The Ramones were an American punk rock band formed in the New York City neighborhood Forest Hills, Queens in 1974. Known for helping establish the punk movement in the United States and elsewhere, the Ramones are often recognized as one of the first bands of the genre. My My, Hey Hey (Out Of The Blue)
"My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue)" is a song by Canadian musician Neil Young. An acoustic song, it was recorded live in early 1978 at the Boarding House in San Francisco, California. Combined with its hard rock counterpart " Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)", it bookends Young's 1979 album ''Rust Never Sleeps''. Inspired by electropunk group Devo, the rise of punk and what Young viewed as his own growing irrelevance, the song significantly revitalized Young's career. The line, "it's better to burn out than to fade away" was taken from one of the songs of Young's bandmate in the short-lived supergroup The Ducks, Jeff Blackburn. It became infamous after being quoted in Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's suicide note. Young later said that he was so shaken that he dedicated his 1994 album '' Sleeps with Angels'' to Cobain.
