Souls At Zero (band)
Souls at Zero was an American heavy metal band. They were originally known as Wrathchild America. The name change occurred after Wrathchild America was dropped from Atlantic Records in 1992, and was accompanied by a slight change in musical style, adopting a mixture between alternative metal and groove metal (similar to those of Pantera and Helmet) while also retaining some of the thrash metal roots of Wrathchild America. Souls at Zero released three albums on Energy Records before disbanding in the mid-1990s. Name origin The name "Souls at Zero" was taken from a chapter in the book '' The Great and Secret Show'' by horror writer Clive Barker. The name was originally intended for Shannon's and John "Tumor" Fahnestock's side project MF Pitbulls which also included 3/5 of the future band Snot. Clive Barker (born 5 October 1952) is an English writer, filmmaker, and visual artist. He came to prominence in the 1980s with a series of short stories collectively named the ''Books of Blood'', which established him as a leading horror author. His work has been adapted into films, notably the ''Hellraiser (franchise), Hellraiser'' series (the first installment of which he also wrote and directed) and the ''Candyman (film series), Candyman'' series. theStart (stylized as theSTART) is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California. History Aimee Echo and Jamie Miller formed the band in 1998, originally named Hero. They changed it to theStart on October 31, 1999, because "Hero" was already being used by many other bands. Their starting lineup included Echo on vocals, Miller on bass and synths, Scott Ellis (who played with Echo in Human Waste Project) on drums and Mike Smith on guitars.
