Souls' Chapel
''Souls' Chapel'' is American country singer Marty Stuart's 12th studio album, and his second album with his band, the Fabulous Superlatives, released in 2005. This is also Stuart's second concept album (with ''The Pilgrim'' being his first). With this project, Stuart and his Superlatives devote the entire album to gospel songs. The album also features select songs in which Stuart's lead vocal performances are unprominent, and are showcased instead by those of the Superlatives' fellow members: 'Cousin' Kenny Vaughan (guitar), 'Handsome' Harry Stinson (drums) and 'Brother' Brian Glenn (bass). The album also features a guest appearance from Mavis Staples on the track 'Move Along Train'. Marty Stuart
John Marty Stuart (born September 30, 1958) is an American country and bluegrass music singer, songwriter, and musician. Active since 1968, Stuart initially toured with Lester Flatt, and then in Johnny Cash's road band before beginning work as a solo artist in the early 1980s. His greatest commercial success came in the first half of the 1990s on MCA Records Nashville. Stuart has recorded over 20 studio albums, and has charted over 30 times on the '' Billboard'' Hot Country Songs charts. His highest chart entry is " The Whiskey Ain't Workin'", a duet with Travis Tritt. Stuart has also won five Grammy Awards out of 16 nominations. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. 37th GMA Dove Awards
The 37th Annual GMA Dove Awards, also called the 37th Annual GMA Music Awards, were held on April 5, 2006 recognizing accomplishments of Christian musicians for the year 2005. The show was held at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee, and was hosted by Rebecca St. James and Kirk Franklin. Dove Award
A Dove Award is an accolade by the Gospel Music Association (GMA) of the United States to recognize outstanding achievement in the Christian music industry. The awards are presented annually. Formerly held in Nashville, Tennessee, the Dove Awards took place in Atlanta, Georgia during 2011 and 2012, but has since moved back to Nashville. Michael Rhodes (musician)
Michael Rhodes is an American bass player, known for his session work and touring in support of other artists, and his collaborations in bands and ensembles. Biography Rhodes was born in Monroe, Louisiana, and taught himself to play the guitar by age 13 and the bass soon after. In the early '70s, Rhodes moved to Austin, Texas, where he performed with local bands. Four years later, Rhodes moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where he performed with Charlie Rich's son Alan. In 1977, Rhodes moved to Nashville, and he joined local band The Nerve with Ricky Rector and Danny Rhodes. He worked as a demo musician for Tree Publishing Company, and then as a session player. The Hammond organ is an electric organ invented by Laurens Hammond and John M. Hanert and first manufactured in 1935. Multiple models have been produced, most of which use sliding #Drawbars, drawbars to vary sounds. Barry Beckett
Barry Edward Beckett (February 4, 1943 – June 10, 2009) was an American keyboardist, session musician, record producer, and studio founder. He is best known for his work with David Hood, Jimmy Johnson, and Roger Hawkins, his bandmates in the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, which performed with numerous notable artists on their studio albums and helped define the "Muscle Shoals sound". Kenny Vaughan
Kenneth Vaughan is an American guitarist. He is best known as a long-time member of Marty Stuart’s supporting band, The Fabulous Superlatives. Career Early life Vaughan was born in Oklahoma, but raised in Denver, Colorado. His guitar instructor was Bill Frisell. In the late 1960s, Vaughan played in a number of rock bands in the Littleton area (where he lived), including a progressive rock group called Amos. Soon after, Vaughan joined a local progressive jazz band, then began playing country music in local bars. Vaughan was a member of Colorado punk band Jonny III in the late 1970s and early 80s. This band started Vaughan's partnership with his long-time songwriting partner Jeffrey Leroy Smith, better known as Leroy X.
