Sons Of Aristocrats
''Sons of Aristocrats'' is a 1932 Egyptian film directed by Mohammed Karim. It stars Youssef Wahbi and Amina Rizk. It is the first Egyptian sound film. The film was produced by Youssef Wahbi for Ramses Film and was released on April 12, 1932 by General Film Distributors. Plot Hamdi Bey abandoned himself to his lust and fell in love with a French girl, leaving his wife behind him. He was surprised by that girl cheating on him with her lover, so he shot her and was sentenced to prison. After the expiration of his prison term, he decided to return to Egypt again. Hamdi Bey met his inevitable fate, committing suicide under the wheels of a train. Mohammed Karim
Mohammed Karim (1896–1972) () was an Egyptian actor, film director, writer, and producer, and is considered one of the most prominent figures in Egyptian cinematic history. He is credited as the first Egyptian film actor. Biography Mohammed Karim was born on December 8, 1886, in Abdeen, Cairo. Karim's journey into cinema began in 1917 when he learned that Italy's first film company, the Italian Cinematographic Society (SITCIA), had come to Alexandria to make a film. Eager to be involved, he sent them thirty-six photos but was initially rejected due to his lack of proficiency in Italian and French. Six months later, after learning Italian, he sent eighty-six new photos and was given the chance for a screen test. On July 20, 1918, Karim debuted as an officer in ''The Honour of the Bedouin'' (''Charaf el Badawî''), followed by a small role in ''The Deadly Flowers'' (''el Azhâr el Momîta''). Youssef Wahbi
Youssef Abdallah Wahbi Qotb () (14 July 1898 – 17 October 1982) was an Egyptian stage, film actor and director, a leading star of the 1930s and 1940s and one of the most prominent Egyptian stage actors of all time, who also served on the jury of the Cannes Film Festival in 1946. He was born to a high state official in Egypt but renounced his family's wealth and traveled to Rome in the 1919 to study theatre, married with Elena Lunda. Besides his stage work, he acted in around 50 films in Egyptian cinema, starting with ''Awlad al-Zawat'' ('' Sons of Aristocrats,'' 1932) to "Iskanderiya... lih?" ('' Alexandria... Why?'', 1978). Amina Rizk
Amina Rizk (; April 15, 1910 – August 24, 2003) was a classic Egyptian actress who appeared in around 208 artworks including more than 70 movies between 1928 and 1996. She was calm in her later years, but described as a clown when she was young. Life Amina Rizk came from a poor rural area. She and her aunt, Amina Mohamed, moved to Cairo with their mothers; the pair were locked in the house after their first theatrical performance.
