Sonny Kay
Sonny Kay is a visual artist and musician. Biography Kay was born in London, England on March 13, 1972, and raised in various locations including the UK, Barcelona (Spain), and Johannesburg (South Africa). His family relocated first to Los Angeles in 1979, and then to Colorado in 1987. He is the son of "Spaghetti Western" film director, Gilbert Lee Kay (aka José Briz). In 1993, Sonny founded the cult independent record label Gold Standard Laboratories, known also as GSL, while attending the University of Colorado at Boulder. Spaghetti Western
The spaghetti Western is a broad subgenre of Western films produced in Europe. It emerged in the mid-1960s in the wake of Sergio Leone's filmmaking style and international box-office success. The term was used by foreign critics because most of these Westerns were Cinema of Italy, produced and directed by Italians. The majority of the films in the spaghetti Western genre were international Co-production (media), co-productions by Italy and Spain, and sometimes France, West Germany, Britain, Portugal, Greece, Yugoslavia, and the United States. Over six hundred European Westerns were made between 1960 and 1978, including nearly five hundred in Italy, which dominated the market. Thavius Beck (born July 31, 1979) is an American record producer and rapper. He has been a member of Global Phlowtations and Lab Waste. He has also put out solo releases under the moniker Adlib. He is a certified trainer of Ableton Live. Biography Thavius Beck is originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He moved to Los Angeles, California when he was 16. In 2004, Thavius Beck released the solo album, ''Decomposition'', on Mush Records. The track "To Make Manifest" from ''Decomposition'' appeared on the ''SuicideGirls: The First Tour'' video. Cattle Decapitation is an American deathgrind band formed in San Diego, California, in 1996. The band's current lineup includes vocalist Travis Ryan, guitarists Josh Elmore and Belisario Dimuzio, and drummer David McGraw. Since 2001, none of the founding members remain with the band. Despite not being in the original lineup, Ryan and Elmore are the only constant members on all of Cattle Decapitation's eight studio albums. History Cattle Decapitation was formed in 1996 by singer Scott Miller, guitarist Gabe Serbian, and drummer Dave Astor. The band put out their first material in 1996 with a demo called ''Ten Torments of the Damned.'' Scott Miller left the band in circa 1997 and Travis Ryan joined the band. Jeff Jordan (painter)
Jeff Jordan (born c. 1948) is an American surrealism painter in Eureka, California. He is best known for painting several of The Mars Volta's album covers, including for '' The Bedlam in Goliath''. Early life To avoid being drafted into the Vietnam War and sent to Southeast Asia, Jordan joined the American Air Force in 1966 and was stationed in Iceland before returning to the United States and working as a missile guard at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Career Jordan's interests vary widely and he has explored a wide range of art styles; as such, it took him 25 years to settle on his surrealist style. His work is done by hand with acrylic and oil paints. After years of working as a commercial artist who felt uninspired by his commissions, he teamed up with The Mars Volta for their album '' Amputechture'' (2006). Bosnian Rainbows was an American rock band from El Paso, Texas, formed in 2012. The band consists of former the Mars Volta members Omar Rodríguez-López (guitar, backing vocals) and Deantoni Parks (drums, keyboards), alongside Le Butcherettes vocalist Teri Gender Bender and Nicci Kasper of KUDU and We Are Dark Angels (keyboards).
