''Songs of Innocence'' is the thirteenth studio album by the Irish rock music, rock band U2, released on 9 September 2014. It was produced by Danger Mouse (musician), Danger Mouse, with additional production from Paul Epworth, Ryan Tedder, Declan Gaffney, and Flood (producer), Flood. After the Surprise album, surprise announcement of the album at an Apple Inc., Apple product launch event, it was digitally released the same day to all iTunes Store customers at no cost. It was exclusive to iTunes, iTunes Radio, and Beats Music until 13 October 2014, when it was released to retailers by Island Records, Island and Interscope Records. The digital release made the record available to more than 500 million iTunes customers, for what Apple's CEO Tim Cook called "the largest album release of all time". Electric Lady Studios
Electric Lady Studios is a recording studio in Greenwich Village, New York City. It was commissioned by rock musician Jimi Hendrix in 1968 and designed by architect John Storyk and audio engineer Eddie Kramer. It was completed by 1970. Hendrix spent only ten weeks recording in Electric Lady before Death of Jimi Hendrix, his death that year, but it quickly became a famed studio used by many top-selling recording artists from the 1970s onwards, including Led Zeppelin, Stevie Wonder, and David Bowie. At the turn of the 21st century, Electric Lady served as a home for the innovative Soulquarians collective, but fell into financial hardship and disarray in the 2000s. The Ramones were an American punk rock band formed in the New York City neighborhood Forest Hills, Queens in 1974.
