Sondika Station
Sondika is a railway station in Sondika, Basque Country, Spain. It is owned by Euskal Trenbide Sarea and operated by Euskotren. It lies on the Txorierri line. History The station opened in 1894 as part of the Lutxana–Mungia line. The station was located to the north of the current station, close to where Bilbao Airport was later built. In 1908 the Bilbao–Lezama line was rerouted through a new alignment which included a connection to the station. Trains started running from Bilbao to Sondika through the Bilbao–Lezama line on 23 July 1909. The line was electrified in 1949. The line from Sondika to Mungia closed in March 1975 due to the lengthening of the airport runway. The station was rebuilt in its current location in 1992, thus allowing for a direct connection between Lutxana and Lezama. After line 1 of the metro took over the Bilbao–Plentzia line in 1995, service on the Lutxana–Sondika line was suspended due to low passenger demand. During the construction of me ... Sondika (Spanish, ''Sondica'') is a town and municipality located in the province of Biscay, in the Autonomous Community of Basque Country, northern Spain. Lutxana (Metro Bilbao)
Lutxana is a station of line 1 of Metro Bilbao, also served by the Lutxana-Sondika shuttle operated by Euskotren Trena. It is located in the neighbourhood of Lutxana-Enekuri, in the municipality of Erandio. In its current inception, the station was opened on 11 November 1995. Since 2015, the station has also been served by Euskotren Trena suburban trains. Euskotren Trena, formerly known just as ''Euskotren'' is a commuter, inter-city and urban transit train-operating company that operates local and inter-city passenger services in the provinces of Biscay and Gipuzkoa, in the Basque Country, Spain. Line 3 (Bilbao Metro)
Line 3 of the Bilbao metro is a rapid transit line in Biscay, Basque Country, Spain. It is long and connects Etxebarri and the Uribarri and Otxarkoaga-Txurdinaga districts in Bilbao with the city center. Unlike the two other lines of the system (which are operated by Metro Bilbao S.A.), line 3 is operated by Euskotren, which runs it as part of the Euskotren Trena network. The Bilbao metro ( es, Metro de Bilbao, eu, Bilboko metroa) is a rapid transit system serving the city of Bilbao and the region of Greater Bilbao. Line 1 of the Bilbao metro is a rapid transit line in Biscay, Basque Country, Spain. It runs from Etxebarri to Plentzia. Its route covers the municipality of Etxebarri, the city of Bilbao, the right bank of the Nervión river and Uribe Kosta. The line has 29 stations. History On November 11 1995, Lehendakari José Antonio Ardanza opened the first 23 stations of the metro system between Casco Viejo and Plentzia. Mungia
Mungia (in Spanish: ''Munguía'') is a town and municipality located in the province of Biscay, in the Basque Country of northern Spain. The town has 17,691 inhabitants (2019). Geography Mungia lies 20 metres above sea level in an area full of open spaces, with a landscape of rolling hills; among these last are Gondramendi (217 m), Tallu (342 m) and Berreaga (366 m). The more important mountains nearby are Sollube (684 m) and Jata (592 m); these surround the valley of the Butroi river, which rises at the mountain of Bizkargi (536 m) and flows to the sea at the Plentzia estuary.
