''Der Kommissar'' is a compilation album released by the band After the Fire in 1982, featuring the new title track, an English-language cover of a minor Falco hit from earlier that year. In the US, the album was released simply as ''ATF'' by Epic Records on LP and audio cassette with a different track list. It had been released in 2001 on CD by Collectables Records again with a different track list. The U.K. and European CD release follows the original track list. If'n
''If'n'' is the second album by the American alternative rock band fIREHOSE, released in 1987. The album name is a reference to the Bob Dylan song " Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" from '' The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan''. The left side of the album cover has a picture of Hüsker Dü, friends of the band and labelmates at SST Records. "For the Singer of R.E.M." was a tribute to the alternative rock band R.E.M., who had invited Firehose's predecessor Minutemen to join them on the tour to support the 1985 album ''Fables of the Reconstruction''. When Minutemen singer D Boon died in a car crash shortly after the tour, R.E.M. organized a benefit concert for Boon's family and remained friendly with Minutemen Mike Watt and George Hurley, who would go on to form Firehose with singer/guitarist Ed Crawford. Reception Critical reviews of ''If'n'' were mostly positive, describing the album as more focused than Firehose's debut. Robert Christgau said the band "sound more like a regul ... Black Celebration
''Black Celebration'' is the fifth studio album by English electronic music band Depeche Mode, released on 17 March 1986 by Mute Records. The album's co-producer Daniel Miller devised "a plan to capture the essence of the dark works" that Martin Gore created because Martin Gore had no intention of compromising the mood that his demos had set. Miller and Gareth Jones produced the album to be more like an environment rather than a collection of songs. Their production created "a tech-noir future dystopia" that "glitters of gloom". The album was promoted by the singles "Stripped", "A Question of Lust", and " A Question of Time". In the US, " But Not Tonight" was released as a single instead of "Stripped". In support of the album, Depeche Mode embarked on the five-month-long Black Celebration Tour across Europe, North America and Japan, which ran from early to mid-1986. ''Black Celebration'' reached number four on the UK Albums Chart, and has been cited as one of the most influen ... Crush On You (Crush Album)
''Crush on You'' is the debut studio album by South Korean singer Crush. It was released on June 5, 2014, by Amoeba Culture and distributed by Genie Music and Stone Music Entertainment. Crush became an underground hip hop artist after graduating from high school and formed ties with fellow musicians. He began releasing singles in 2012 and was signed to record label Amoeba Culture the following year. Crush took artistic control over ''Crush on You''. As songs were developed for the album, his music saw a shift towards a more R&B sound. He worked with several musicians on the record in terms of guest features and production. He recorded numerous tracks for the album, which were whittled down to form a record revolving around the theme of love and it was completed in April 2014. After a series of photo and video teasers, ''Crush on You'' and its lead single "Hug Me" featuring rapper Gaeko were concurrently released. Carpenters (album)
''Carpenters'' is the third studio album by American music duo the Carpenters. Released on May 14, 1971, it was their most successful studio album, reaching number two on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart and number 12 in the UK, as well as being certified 4× Platinum by the RIAA. The album contained the hit songs " For All We Know", " Rainy Days and Mondays" and "Superstar". It has been said that the strength of these recordings is what caused Richard Carpenter to ask his sister to front the band for their live performances instead of playing behind the drums. Amongst many fans, the album has simply been referred to as ''"The Tan Album"'', because the original LP cover, complete with overlapping flap, looked like an oversized tan envelope, and is presumably a play on The Beatles' so-called '' White Album''. In ''Cash Box''s Top 100 Albums of 1971, ''Carpenters'' was listed as one of the year's ten biggest albums. This is the first album to feature the familiar Carpenters logo. All ... Buddha (album)
''Buddha'' is a demo album by the American rock band Blink-182. Recorded and released in January 1994 under the name Blink, it was the band's first recording to be sold and distributed. The band had recorded two previous demos in drummer Scott Raynor's bedroom—''Flyswatter'' and ''Demo No.2''—using a four track recorder. Most of the tracks from ''Buddha'' were re-recorded for the band's subsequent releases; seven were re-recorded for their debut album '' Cheshire Cat'' and one was re-recorded for their second album '' Dude Ranch''. The demo was originally released on the label Filter Records. In the early days of the band, Hoppus worked at the record store The Wherehouse, and became friends with his supervisor, Pat Secor. Hoping to start his own record label, Secor pulled money from his savings and helped finance and produce ''Buddha''. The demo was recorded live at local Santee studio Doubletime, comprising nearly all of the songs the trio had written up to that point. ...
