''Something Wild'' is a 1961 American drama neo noir psychological thriller film directed by Jack Garfein, and starring Carroll Baker, Ralph Meeker and Mildred Dunnock. The film follows a young New York City college student who, after being brutally raped, is taken in and held captive by a mechanic who witnessed her suicide attempt on the Manhattan Bridge. The film is based on the 1958 novel ''Mary Ann'' by Alex Karmel, who co-wrote the screenplay with Garfein. Released in December 1961, ''Something Wild'' violated a number of Hollywood conventions and taboos by showing an on-screen rape and brief nudity, and received a mixed response from film critics. ''Something Wild'' is the debut full-length album by Finnish melodic death metal band Children of Bodom, released in 1997 in Finland, and in 1998 worldwide. Upon release, the album was met with universal acclaim by music critics. In 2020, it was named one of the 20 best metal albums of 1997 by ''Metal Hammer'' magazine. ''Brick by Brick'' is the ninth studio album by American singer Iggy Pop, released in June 1990 by Virgin Records. Production and content After attracting mixed reviews for much of his 1980s output, Pop hired producer Don Was, who was a longtime fan of Pop's earlier group The Stooges, as producer and opted for a hard rock sound. Many songs on the album incorporate a lyrical theme of the United States facing dangers of cultural decay and implosion. "Something Wild" is a 2016 single by Lindsey Stirling featuring Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness . Composition "Something Wild" was written for the Disney film, ''Pete's Dragon'', a 2016 remake of the 1977 movie. The film was released on August 12 with the song played over the end credits. In a video on Facebook live, Stirling confirmed Disney approached her to compose a song for the remake, and she wrote "Something Wild" the same day. Daniel Motlop (born 16 March 1982) is an Indigenous Larrakia Australian rules footballer who played a total of 130 senior games for the North Melbourne Football Club and the Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).
