"Someone's Rocking My Dreamboat" is a song written by Leon René, Otis René and Emerson Scott in 1941. It was recorded in 1941 by The Ink Spots (Decca 4045), Erskine Hawkins (Bluebird B-11277), "Hutch" Leslie Hutchinson with Orchestra (HMV B.D.1006), and The Four Tones & Eddie Beal Trio (Make Believe Ballroom AM 02357-E). It was first heard in a feature film in ''Bullet Scars'' (1942). It was also heard in 1942 in ''Juke Girl'' and '' Wings for the Eagle''. 1942 also saw versions of the song released by bandleaders Shep Fields, Benny Goodman, Woody Herman, and Artie Shaw. Leon René (February 6, 1902 – May 30, 1982) was an American music composer of pop, R&B and rock and roll songs and a record producer in the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. He sometimes used the songwriting pseudonym Jimmy Thomas or Jimmie Thomas. He also established several record labels. Elvin Jones
Elvin Ray Jones (September 9, 1927 – May 18, 2004) was an American jazz drummer of the post-bop era. Most famously a member of John Coltrane's quartet, with whom he recorded from late 1960 to late 1965, Jones appeared on such widely celebrated albums as '' My Favorite Things'', '' A Love Supreme'', '' Ascension'' and '' Live at Birdland''. After 1966, Jones led his own trio, and later larger groups under the name ''The Elvin Jones Jazz Machine''. ''Gorilla My Dreams'' is a Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' theatrical animated short directed by Robert McKimson and written by Warren Foster. The short was released on January 3, 1948, and stars Bugs Bunny. The story is a parody of the many jungle films that were prominent in the 1930s and 1940s which often featured gorillas extensively (though not always behaviorally accurately), most notably the Tarzan films. The title is a play on the expression "Girl o' My Dreams". The short featured Gruesome Gorilla, who reappeared in ''Hurdy-Gurdy Hare'' and as a boss in '' Bugs Bunny and Taz Time Busters''. The cartoon was remade in 1959 as '' Apes of Wrath''. ''The Big Snooze'' is a 1946 Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' cartoon planned by Bob Clampett and was written by him, but was ultimately completed by Arthur Davis, both being uncredited as directors. Its title was inspired by the 1939 book ''The Big Sleep'', and its 1946 film adaptation, also a Warner release. ''The Big Snooze'' features Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd, voiced by Mel Blanc and Arthur Q. Bryan. Plot Bugs and Elmer are in the midst of their usual hunting-chasing scenario. ''Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips'' is a 1944 ''Merrie Melodies'' cartoon directed by Friz Freleng. The cartoon, released on April 22, 1944, features Bugs Bunny. The film depicts Bugs fighting against the Imperial Japanese Army in the Pacific War. The film is considered controversial for caricaturing the Japanese enemy, and expressing anti-Japanese sentiment. It was animated by Phil Monroe and was written by Michael Maltese, the latter being his first collaboration with Jones. Plot Junior wants a chicken for dinner, saying that he is a chicken hawk. His mother insists he eat a worm, or he will get no supper. Junior refuses, much to the worm's relief. Junior's mother puts him to bed and tells him to "go right to sleep". Henery sneaks out his house at bedtime, then goes to the chicken coop and soon finds a rooster and his hen, Hazel, who has a panic reaction at the sound of the words " chicken hawk". The rooster chases him until his mother spots him and sends him home. Because Tex left the studio for Paramount Pictures in September 1941 before production was completed (it was the last he worked on), Clampett finished it, and both names were officially left off the credits.
