Revelations (Audioslave Album)
''Revelations'' is the third and final studio album by American rock supergroup Audioslave, released on September 4, 2006 internationally and a day later in the United States through Epic Records and Interscope Records. Chris Cornell quit the band in February 2007 and the remaining members disbanded Audioslave rather than looking for a new vocalist since they were busy with a reunion of Rage Against the Machine. Background and recording According to guitarist Tom Morello, most of the 20 songs that Audioslave brought to the studio for possible inclusion on ''Revelations'' had been written before the band went on their most recent U.S. tour, so they were able to " orkout the kinks of some of these songs in front of a live audience". Many of the songs incorporate 1960s and '70s soul and funk influences that were new for the band, with Morello saying the album "sounds like Led Zeppelin meets Earth, Wind & Fire", and Chris Cornell referring to his new "Seventies funk and R&B- ... This was the last album to be released by the band before lead vocalist Ian Watkins was convicted of numerous sex offences, which led to their disbandment. Just like their third studio album it features Latin on the front, which reads ''deus velox nex''. When translated it reads ''God is swift death''. Writing and recording history The band started writing new material after finishing The Betrayed Tour. The album was produced by Ken Andrews at Hollywood. Blurring The Edges
''Blurring the Edges'' is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter Meredith Brooks. It was released on May 6, 1997, by Capitol Records. Following the release of her self-titled debut album in 1986 and her departure from the short-lived band the Graces, Brooks temporarily retired from the music industry. Disinterested in the cynicism of grunge music that reigned in the early Nineties, Brooks became re-inspired and began to write music with a more positive message. Brooks co-wrote the album with her friend Shelly Peiken, with further songwriting contributions from Larry Dvoskin, Christopher Ward, Stan Lynch, John Corey, Kevin Dukes, and Tom DeLuca. Brooks enlisted David Ricketts to produce the effort, with Geza X helming production on a single song. Music critics were divided in their opinions of ''Blurring the Edges''. Some critics praised Brooks' lyricism and hooks, while others believed that the album tread familiar grounds. Many critics also compared Brooks to he ...
