''Softly'' is a studio album by American Country music, country singer–songwriter Hank Locklin. It was released in December 1968 via RCA Records, RCA Victor Records and contained 11 tracks. The album was co-produced by Chet Atkins and Danny Davis (country musician), Danny Davis. ''Softly'' was Locklin's nineteenth studio album released in his career and third to be released in 1968. It contained one single, "Where the Blue of the Night (Meets the Gold of the Day), Where the Blue of the Night Meets the Gold of the Day." The song became a charting single in 1969. The album itself would also reach a charting position following its original release. Background and content Hank Locklin had several years of limited commercial success during the mid 1960s. In 1968 however, his single titled "The Country Hall of Fame," reached the top ten of the American country charts. This brought a commercial resurgence to his career. ''Softly'' is the fourth album by jazz singer Roseanna Vitro, released in December 1993 on the Concord Jazz label. Reception AllMusic awarded the album 4½ stars, with reviewer Scott Yanow citing Vitro's proficiency with both lyrics and improvisation, as well as the strong support lent by pianist Fred Hersch and saxophonists Tim Ries and George Coleman. The album fared well in contemporaneous reviews as well. ''Softly'' was an LP album featuring The Sandpipers, released by A&M Records in August, 1968. The album reached #180 on the Billboard chart. Two singles from the album charted in the top 40 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart: "Quando M'Innamoro" at #16 and the title track at #39. ''Softly'' is the fourteenth studio album by Japanese singer-songwriter Tatsuro Yamashita, released on June 22, 2022. It has been certified platinum by RIAJ in July 2022, for sales of over 250,000 copies. Overview ''Softly'' was Yamashita's first new studio album in 11 years since ''Ray of Hope'' in August 2011. In addition to single songs such as "Hikari to Kimi e no Requiem", " Cheer Up! The Summer", "Reborn", " Mirai no Theme", and "Recipe", the album contains 15 songs including "Lehua, My Love" and "Shining from the Inside", which were previously used as CM songs. Wanda Maria Ferreira de Sá (born July 1, 1944) (also Wanda de Sah) is a Brazilian bossa nova singer and guitarist, active from 1964 to the present day. Her first guitar teacher, when she was 13, was Roberto Menescal. Later, she worked with Sérgio Mendes in his group Brasil '65' and also with Marcos Valle and Kátya Chamma. Francisco Tenório Júnior and Ugo Marotta played on her debut album ''Vagamente'' in 1964. She was married to legendary Brazilian singer, songwriter, guitarist and composer Edu Lobo from 1969 until 1982. In 2011, she made her first appearance in the United States since 1999, playing with Marcos Valle at Birdland in New York City. ''The Wall Street Journal'' described her as "legendary".
