Society Of Heads
The Society of Heads, formerly the Society of Headmasters & Headmistresses of Independent Schools (SHHIS), or "S of H", is an association of circa 130 Headmasters and Headmistresses of various types of private schools in the United Kingdom, and was formed in 1961. Members include heads of single-sex and co-educational day and boarding secondary schools, specialist music, dance, and performing arts schools, and special schools for children with learning difficulties. The association's headquarters are in Market Harborough, in Leicestershire, England. Members of the Society usually have membership of the Association of School and College Leaders, with their schools usually having membership of the Association of Governing Bodies of Independent Schools. In the United Kingdom, private schools (also called independent schools) are schools that require fees for admission and enrolment. Ackworth School
Ackworth School is a private day and boarding school located in the village of High Ackworth, near Pontefract, West Yorkshire, England. It is one of seven Quaker schools in England. The school (or more accurately its Head) is a member of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference and SHMIS. The Head is Martyn Beer, who took over in April 2024. Bristol Grammar School (BGS) is a 4–18 Mixed-sex education, mixed, Private schools in the United Kingdom, private day school in Bristol, England. Bredon School
Bredon School, formerly Pull Court, is a private school in Bushley, Worcestershire, England. The house was built for the Reverend Canon E. C. Dowdeswell by Edward Blore between 1831 and 1839. The site is much older and Blore's house replaced an earlier mansion. The Dowdeswells had been prominent in local and national politics since the 18th century, with many serving as members of Parliament. The family sold the house in 1934 to the parents of Richard Seaman, a prominent pre-war racing driver, who lived there until his death in a crash in the 1939 Belgian Grand Prix. Bishop Challoner School
Bishop Challoner School is an English independent coeducational Roman Catholic day school in Shortlands, Greater London, for children aged three to eighteen years. Berkhamsted School
