Smith School Of Enterprise And The Environment
The Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment (also known as the Smith School) is an interdisciplinary hub of the University of Oxford directed by Professor Cameron Hepburn that focuses upon teaching, research, and engagement with businesses and enterprise and long-term environmental sustainability. The Smith School was founded through a benefaction from the Smith Family Educational Foundation and officially opened in 2008. From 2008 to 2012 Professor Sir David King served as the founding director of the Smith School followed by Professor Gordon Clark from January 2013 to October 2018. Cameron Hepburn
Cameron Hepburn is the Director of the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, the Battcock Professor of Environmental Economics at the University of Oxford, and formerly a professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is also the Director of the Economics of Sustainability Programme at the Institute for New Economic Thinking at the Oxford Martin School. Education Hepburn attended Camberwell Grammar School and received his undergraduate education in law and engineering at the University of Melbourne in Australia and his master's degree and doctorate in economics from the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. David King (chemist)
Sir David Anthony King (born 12 August 1939) is a South African-born British chemist, academic, and head of the Climate Crisis Advisory Group. King first taught at Imperial College, London, the University of East Anglia, and was then Brunner Professor of Physical Chemistry (1974–1988) at the University of Liverpool. He held the 1920 Chair of Physical Chemistry at the University of Cambridge from 1988 to 2006, and was Master of Downing College, Cambridge, from 1995 to 2000: he is now Emeritus Professor. While at Cambridge, he was successively a fellow of St John's College, Downing College, and Queens' College. The School of Geography and the Environment (SoGE) is a department of the University of Oxford in England, which is part of the university's Social Sciences Division. It is located in the Oxford University Centre for the Environment on South Parks Road, in central Oxford. The department is well known for its research-based curriculum. SoGE has a unique academic curriculum. The curriculum of an undergraduate student consists of both physical and human geography as well as GIS and cartography. It focuses on both physical and human geography while giving the opportunity to specialize in a particular topic. SoGE houses three research centres: the Environmental Change Institute (ECI), the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment (SSEE), and the Transport Studies Unit (TSU).
