Alistair Malcolm George Slowe (born 16 October 1988) is an English football midfielder. Club career Slowe has now retired from football. He retired in 2018. He could play anywhere but he was best anywhere across the back line but he was most comfortable playing as a right back or a right wing back. Slowe started his career as a youth player at Brighton & Hove Albion, however he left to focus on school work and exams. At the age of 17, he headed to Ghana to pursue his footballing career after not attaining the grades he wanted. He helped found the Cantonments Soccer Academy in 2006, and spent two seasons with the first team. In 2008, he was offered a contract with Cypriot side Onisilos Sotira, having impressed two Newcastle United scouts who happened to be in Ghana at the time. He spent two seasons with Sotira, before being offered trials with English sides AFC Wimbledon and Gillingham. Christopher Slowe
Christopher Brian Slowe (born November 8, 1978) is an American businessman. He gained his PhD in physics from Harvard University, and went on to co-found Reddit, with Aaron Swartz, Alexis Ohanian and Steve Huffman. He later departed Reddit and began work for Hipmunk, where he was Chief Scientist. He returned to Reddit in 2017 and is currently its CTO. Career Slowe was awarded his PhD in physics from Harvard for his thesis "Experiments and simulations in cooling and trapping of a high flux rubidium beam". His thesis advisor was Professor Lene Hau. During his time as a research assistant at Harvard, he also began to devise computer programs. Whilst studying, in the final year of his PhD he and a group of other Harvard students received startup funding from Y Combinator for their company TBD, later renamed Memamp. Georgia Slowe (born 3 June 1966) is an English actress. She is best known for playing Perdita Hyde-Sinclair on the British soap opera ''Emmerdale'' from 2006 to 2008. Slowe received a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for her performance as Juliet in a 1989 production of ''Romeo and Juliet''. Early life Slowe was born to Jewish parents. Lucy Diggs Slowe
Lucy Diggs Slowe (July 4, 1885 – October 21, 1937) was an American educator and athlete, and the first Black woman to serve as Dean of Women at any American university. She was a founder of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, the first sorority founded by African-American women. Slowe was a tennis champion, winning the national title of the American Tennis Association's first tournament in 1917, the first African-American woman to win a major sports title. In 1922, Slowe was appointed the first Dean of Women at Howard University. She continued in that role for 15 years until her death. In addition, Slowe created and led two professional associations to support college administrators. Vikki Slowe (born 1947 in London, England) is a British printmaker and painter. Slowe produced etchings. She illustrated the book ''Purple & Green: Poems by Thirty-Three Women Poets''. Slowe's works are held in the collections of the Ben Uri Gallery & Museum. and the Imperial Health Charity Art Collection. Her artworks have received coverage in the Summer Exhibition of the Royal Academy in London (where she exhibited in 1973, 1975, and 1988), from the Smithsonian Institution in the United States, and the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge.
