Slovak Society Of Actuaries
The Slovak Society of Actuaries (SSA, ) is the association of actuaries in Slovakia. The Society was established in 1996. It is a full member of the International Actuarial Association and the Groupe Consultatif. As of 2011, the Society has about 150 members, 25 of them fully qualified. Current chairman of the Society is Jozef Zelina. History The Slovak Society of Actuaries was established in 1996. Actuary
An actuary is a professional with advanced mathematical skills who deals with the measurement and management of risk and uncertainty. These risks can affect both sides of the balance sheet and require investment management, asset management, liability (financial accounting), liability management, and valuation skills. The International Actuarial Association (IAA) is a worldwide association of local professional actuarial associations. History The IAA is the continuation of the ''Comité Permanent des Congrès d’Actuaires'', established in 1895, as an association of individuals. It was renamed the IAA in 1968. At the 26th International Congress of Actuaries, held in Birmingham on 7–12 June 1998, the General Assembly of the International Actuarial Association restructured itself. The restructure created a single unified framework to ensure unity of direction and efficient coordination with respect to issues of a worldwide nature.
