Ski jumping at the 2018 Winter Olympics took place between 8 and 19 February 2018. A total of four ski jumping events were held. Qualification A maximum of 100 athletes (65 male and 35 female) were allowed to qualify for the ski jumping events. The quotas were allocated using the Olympic Quota Allocation List, which is calculated using the FIS World Cup standings and Continental Cup Standings from seasons 2016–17 and 2017–18 added together. Alpensia Ski Jumping Centre (알펜시아 스키점프 경기장) is a ski jumping hills located at Alpensia Resort in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Daniel-André Tande (; born 24 January 1994) is a Norwegian ski jumper, 2018 ski flying World Champion and 2018 team Olympic champion. Career Tande's first World Cup start was in Bad Mitterndorf on 11 January 2014. On 25 November 2015, he achieved his first-ever World Cup win in Klingenthal. On 1 January 2017 he won his second World Cup event in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. On 20 January 2018, Tande achieved the gold medal of the 2018 Ski Flying World Championships. In the three-part competition, he became the ski flying World Champion, beating Kamil Stoch and Richard Freitag. Next day, Tande became a double 2018 Ski Flying World Champion. Ski Jumping At The Winter Olympics
Ski jumping has been included in the program of every Winter Olympic Games. From 1924 through to 1956, the competition involved jumping from one hill whose length varied from each edition of the games to the next. Most historians have placed this length at 70 meters and have classified this as the ''large hill''. (Recent information from the FIS offices in Switzerland have had the K-points from 1924 to 1956 determined as shown below). In 1960, the ski jump hill was standardized to 80 meters. In 1964, a second ski jump, the ''normal hill'' at 70 meters (K90) was added along with the 80 meters (K120) large hill. The length of the large hill run in 1968 increased from 80 meters to 90 meters (K120). The team large hill event was added in 1988. (born 8 October 1996) is a Japanese ski jumper. She is one of the most successful female ski jumpers to date, as well as one of the most successful athletes in the history of the sport, having won four World Cup overall titles (an all-time female record), seven World Championship medals, and a Winter Olympic medal. , Takanashi holds the record for the most individual World Cup wins, male or female, with 63. Maren Lundby (born 7 September 1994) is a Norwegian ski jumper. She is one of the most successful ski jumpers, male or female, having won three consecutive World Cup overall titles (an all-time record), thirty individual World Cup wins, and gold medals at the 2018 Winter Olympics and the 2019 and 2021 World Championships. Lundby is also known as an advocate for gender equality in the sport. Because of her efforts, women are now allowed to jump on the large hill during the World Championships. Maciej Kot (Polish pronunciation: ; born 9 June 1991) is a Polish ski jumper. He is a member of the national team and competed at the Winter Olympics in 2014 and 2018. Richard "Richi" Freitag (; born 14 August 1991) is a German former ski jumper who competed at World Cup level from 2010 to 2022. Career His FIS Ski Jumping World Cup debut took place on 29 December 2009 at the Four Hills Tournament in Oberstdorf, having previously gained success in the Continental Cup. On 3 January 2010, he succeeded in Innsbruck with a 30th place-his first World Cup point. At the FIS Ski-Flying World Championships 2010 in Planica he reached the 28th place in the individual event. In his second season, he won the third place with the German team in Oberstdorf in 2011. At the beginning of the 2011/2012 World Cup, he finished 9th in Kuusamo.
