Canada Olympic Park
Canada Olympic Park (COP), formerly known as Paskapoo Ski Hill, is a ski hill and multi-purpose training and competition facility located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, owned and operated by WinSport. It is currently used both for high performance athletic training and for recreational purposes by the general public. Canada Olympic Park was one of the venues for the 1988 Winter Olympics, being the primary venue for ski jumping, bobsleigh, and luge. Jari Markus Puikkonen (born 25 June 1959) is a Finnish former ski jumper. Career Puikkonen made his debut internationally in the Four Hills Tournament competition in Oberstdorf on 30 December 1977. He won his first World Cup victory at Innsbruck in 1981. That year he finished third overall in the Four Hills Tournament and he won three more victories in the ski jumping World Cup to finish fifth overall. He also won three medals at the Winter Olympics with a gold in the team large lill (1988 Winter Olympics), and bronze medals in both the individual normal hill (1984 Winter Olympics) and the individual large hill (1980 Winter Olympics). Ski jumping has been included in the program of every Winter Olympic Games. From 1924 through to 1956, the competition involved jumping from one hill whose length varied from each edition of the games to the next. It is controversial whether the Olympic Games from 1924 to 1960 were normal hill or large hill competitions. Even the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has no clear consensus on this. Most historians have placed the length of the Olympic competition in 1924 at 70 meters and have classified this as the ''large hill''. Miran Tepeš (born 25 April 1961) is a Slovenes, Slovenian former ski jumping, ski jumper and current ski jumping official who competed for Yugoslavia and Slovenia from 1979 to 1992. He won a silver medal in the team large hill competition at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. He finished fourth in the normal hill individual competition, and tenth in the large hill competition. His best finish in FIS Ski Jumping World Cup competitions was second place (a total of seven times between 1985 and 1990). After retiring, Tepeš started working as a FIS competition official. Matjaž Zupan (born 27 September 1968 in Kranj) is a Slovenian former ski jumper who competed for the former Yugoslavia and afterwards for independent Slovenia from 1987 to 1994.
