Skei Municipality
Ogndal (historically: ''Skei'') is a former municipality in what was the old Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1885 until its dissolution in 1964. The municipality included the whole Ogndalen valley and areas to the west, up to, but not including the town of Steinkjer in what is now the central and western part of Steinkjer Municipality in Trøndelag county. Initially, the administrative centre of the municipality was the small village of Skei where the Skei Church was located. In 1917, the administrative center of Ogndal was moved to the nearby town of Steinkjer (even though that was not a part of Ogndal Municipality). Prior to its dissolution in 1963, the municipality was the 227th largest by area out of the 689 municipalities in Norway. Steinkjer (town)
or is the administrative centre of Steinkjer Municipality and Trøndelag county in Norway. The List of towns and cities in Norway, town is located at the northeastern end of the inner-most part of the Trondheimsfjorden, at the mouth of the river Steinkjerelva. In the eastern part of the town, the river of Figgja also flows into the fjord. The town is split in two by the river Steinkjerelva, creating the two traditional neighborhoods of Nordsia and Sørsia. Both the European route E6 highway and the Nordlandsbanen railway line run through the town, the latter serving the city at Steinkjer Station. Steinkjer Church and Egge Church are both located in the town. Prior to 1 January 2018, the town was also the administrative centre of Nord-Trøndelag county, and since that day it has been the seat of the newly created Trøndelag county. Valley
A valley is an elongated low area often running between hills or mountains and typically containing a river or stream running from one end to the other. Genitive Case
In grammar, the genitive case ( abbreviated ) is the grammatical case that marks a word, usually a noun, as modifying another word, also usually a noun—thus indicating an attributive relationship of one noun to the other noun. Kvam is a List of former municipalities of Norway, former municipality in what was Nord-Trøndelag county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1909 until its dissolution in 1964. The municipality encompassed the areas north and west of the lake Snåsavatnet in what is now Steinkjer Municipality in Trøndelag county. The administrative centre was the village of Kvam, Steinkjer, Kvam on the shore of the lake. Most of the population of Kvam Municipality lived along the lake shore. Stod Municipality
Stod is a former municipality in the old Nord-Trøndelag county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until 1964. It originally encompassed the northern part of what is now Steinkjer Municipality, stretching from the town of Steinkjer to the northeast, along the lake Snåsavatnet, to the municipal border with Snåsa Municipality. Over time, however, the municipality was reduced in size to just a fraction of its original size, leaving just the area between the lake Snåsavatnet in the north to the Ogndalen valley in the south.
