''Six'' (stylized as ''SIX'') is an American military drama television series. The series was ordered by the History Channel with an eight-episode initial order. The first two episodes were directed by Lesli Linka Glatter. ''Six'' premiered on January 18, 2017. ''Six'' was renewed for a second season of 10 episodes and aired in 2018. In June, History announced the series' cancellation. Premise The series chronicles the operations and daily lives of operators who are part of the U.S. Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU), more commonly known as SEAL Team Six, which is one of the U.S. Armed Forces' primary counter-terrorism units. The Naval Special Warfare Development Group (NSWDG), abbreviated as DEVGRU ("Development Group") and unofficially known as SEAL Team Six, is the United States Navy component of the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC). Lesli Linka Glatter (born July 26, 1953) is an American film and television director. She is best known for her work on the AMC (TV channel), AMC drama series ''Mad Men'' and the Showtime (TV network), Showtime series ''Homeland (TV series), Homeland''. For her work in these two shows, she has received eight Primetime Emmy Award nominations and seven Directors Guild of America Awards nominations, winning the latter three times.
