Sita (; ), also known as Siya, Jānaki and Maithili, is a Hindu goddess and the female protagonist of the Hindu epic ''Ramayana''. Sita is the consort of Rama, the avatar of god Vishnu, and is regarded as an avatar of goddess Lakshmi. She is the chief goddess of the Ramanandi Sampradaya and is the goddess of beauty and devotion. Sita's birthday is celebrated every year on the occasion of Sita Navami. Described as the daughter of Bhūmi (the earth), Sita is brought up as the adopted daughter of King Janaka of Videha. Sita, in her youth, chooses Rama, the prince of Ayodhya (Ramayana), Ayodhya as her husband in a swayamvara. Sita Devi (painter)
Sita Devi (1914–2005) was an Indian artist, specializing in painting in the Madhubani art, Madhubani tradition. She is one of the most well-known Madhubani artists from India, and was one of the first to receive national recognition for the art form, receiving a number of awards for her work including the Padma Shri (one of India's highest civilian honors) in 1981, as well as the Bihar Ratna Samman in 1984. She was influential in activism for local development in her village of Jitwarpur, in the state of Bihar, and taught Madhubani art to local residents, especially women, during her career in an effort to encourage financial stability. Her paintings have been praised for their individual style, particularly their use of color, have been widely exhibited, and are archived in India as well as in museums in France, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan. ''Seetha'' is an Indian Malayalam-language action drama television series. The show has three seasons. The first season titled as '' Chinthavishtayaya Seetha'' was premiered on 29 August 2016 on Asianet and aired on weekdays at 7:00 PM IST and on-demand through Disney+ Hotstar. Its time slot later changed to 6:30 pm. The first season abruptly ended on 28 January 2017 with 126 episodes. It starred Swasika Vijay, Bipin Jose and Shanavas Shanu in lead roles. Shishir Kumar Bhaduri or Sisir Kumar Bhaduri (2 October 1889 – 30 June 1959) was an Indian stage actor and theatre founder, commonly referred to as the pioneer of modern Bengali theatre. He was an actor, director, playwright and scenic designer. After Girish Chandra Ghosh, he introduced realism and naturalism in Indian theatre. Life Born in Midnapore, West Bengal, he studied at Scottish Church College Kolkata, where he began participating in theatre. He was also a professor of Metropolitan College (today's Vidyasagar College). In 1921, he left his job to become a full-time stage actor.
