Playskool is an American brand of educational toys and games for preschoolers. The former Playskool manufacturing company was a subsidiary of the Milton Bradley Company and was headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Weebles are a range of children's roly-poly toys that was introduced in 1971 by the US toy company Playskool, which is now owned and marketed by Hasbro as part of the Playskool brand. They are egg-shaped toys designed with a weighted bottom-center. When tilted, the center of mass is raised, and upon release, gravity returns the toy to its original upright position. Weebles have been designed with a variety of shapes, including some designed to look like people or animals. The catchphrase "Weebles wobble, but they don't fall down" was used in advertising during their rise in popularity in the 1970s and during successive relaunches in the early 2000s. Alphie
Alphie was an educational robot toy popular in the 1980s. It featured a slot in the front for interchangeable cards, which lined up with special soft-touch input function buttons built into the front of the toy. It ran on batteries and came with different insert cards to help children learn math, spelling, matching skills, etc. The toy also played music. The original Alphie was released in 1978. Teddy Ruxpin is an electronic children's toy in the form of a talking bear-like creature known as an 'Illiop'. The toy's mouth and eyes move while he tells stories about his adventures played on an audio tape cassette deck built into his back. Tonka is an American brand and former manufacturer of toy trucks. The company was founded in 1946 and operated as an independent manufacturer of popular steel toy construction type trucks and machinery, until its sale to Hasbro in 1991.
