Sirius (urban-type Settlement)
Sirius (russian: Сириус) is an urban locality (an urban-type settlement) in Krasnodar Krai, Russia. It is incorporated as a federal territory. Sirius is located on the Black Sea coast, between the Mzymta in the northwest and the Psou on the southeast. The Psou also designated the state border between Russia and Georgia (Abkhazia). From the inland site, Sirius is roughly bounded by A147 highway connecting Dzhubga via Tuapse and Sochi with the Russian border. History Sirius was established in 2019 in part of the Imereti Lowlands which belonged to Adlersky City District of the city of Sochi. This is the area which was developed before the 2014 Winter Olympics. It was first subordinated to Sochi, and eventually on 22 December 2020 a law designating Sirius as the first ever federal territory was adopted and signed. Adlersky City District (russian: А́длерский райо́н) is the southernmost of four city districts of the city of Sochi in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, lying along the Black Sea coast near the southern Russian border with Georgia. Gagra ( ka, გაგრა; Abkhaz and Russian: Гагра) is a town in Abkhazia/Georgia, sprawling for 5 km on the northeast coast of the Black Sea, at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains. The Sochi Autodrom (russian: Сочи Автодром, Sochi Avtodrom), previously known as the Sochi International Street Circuit and the Sochi Olympic Park Circuit, is a permanent race track in the settlement of Sirius next to the Black Sea resort town of Sochi in Krasnodar Krai, Russia. Sochi Olympic Park () is an Olympic Park in Sochi, Russia. It situated in the urban-type settlement of Sirius in Imeretinsky Valley, on the coast of the Black Sea. The Olympic Park houses the main Olympic Stadium used for the Games' ceremonies, and the venues that were used for indoor sports such as hockey, figure skating, curling, and speed skating.
