Willy Stöwer
Willy Stöwer (22 May 1864 – 31 May 1931) was a Germans, German artist, illustrator, and author during the German Empire, Imperial Period. He is best known for Marine art, nautical paintings and lithographs. Many of his works depict historical maritime events such as the sinking of the RMS Titanic, sinking of the RMS ''Titanic'' in 1912. Life Willy Stöwer, the son of a sea captain, was born in Wolgast, Germany on the Baltic Sea, Baltic coast. He originally trained as a metalworker and worked as a technician in the engineering offices of various German shipyards. He soon received commissions as a draftsman, illustrator and painter. His talent was recognized early and his painting technique was self-taught. Cold Shock
Cold shock response is a series of neurogenic cardio-respiratory responses caused by sudden immersion in cold water. In cold water immersions, such as by falling through thin ice, cold shock response is perhaps the most common cause of death. Also, the abrupt contact with very cold water may cause involuntary inhalation, which, if underwater, can result in fatal drowning. Death which occurs in such scenarios is complex to investigate and there are several possible causes and phenomena that can take part. The cold water can cause heart attack due to severe vasoconstriction, where the heart has to work harder to pump the same volume of blood throughout the arteries. A compartment is a portion of the space within a ship defined vertically between decks and horizontally between bulkheads. It is analogous to a room within a building, and may provide watertight subdivision of the ship's hull important in retaining buoyancy if the hull is damaged. Subdivision of a ship's hull into watertight compartments is called compartmentation. History Bulkheads were known to the ancient Greeks, who employed bulkheads in triremes to support the back of rams.
