Singapore Open (men's Tennis)
The Singapore Open was a Grand Prix and ATP Tour affiliated tennis tournament played from 1989 to 1992 and from 1996 to 1999. It was known as the ''Epson Singapore Super Tennis'' until 1992 and the ''Heineken Open'' from 1996 to 1999. It was initially played on outdoor hard courts at Kallang Tennis Centre. For the latter four editions it was an indoor event at Singapore Indoor Stadium. Kallang Tennis Centre
Kallang Tennis Centre is a tennis court in Kallang, Singapore. It is located along Stadium Boulevard, adjacent to the Kallang Field, and is part of the Kallang Sports Centre. It is located just outside the central business district area. History The Kallang Tennis Centre was opened as a community sports facility in March 1978. Since then, it has been a popular venue for tennis programmes and competitions, including hosting the local national schools’ tennis competitions. It is also the training venue for the national team and national youth teams. The Kallang Tennis Centre is equipped with 14 courts. 2010 Summer Youth Olympics Kallang Tennis Centre was used as a competition venue for tennis during the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics. Gilad Bloom
Gilad Bloom (; born 1 March 1967) is a former professional tennis player from Israel. Bloom trained at the Israel Tennis Centers. His career-high rankings were World No. 61 in singles (in 1990) and World No. 62 in doubles (in 1992). Personal life Bloom grew up in Ramat HaSharon, is Jewish, and is married to Michal Bareket-Bloom. Alexander Bublik
Alexander Stanislavovich Bublik (; born 17 June 1997) is a Russian-born Kazakhstani professional tennis player. He has a career-high Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP singles ranking of world No. 17, achieved on 6 May 2024 and a doubles ranking of No. 47, achieved on 8 November 2021. He is the current Kazakhstani No. 1 in men's singles. Mikael Tillström
Mikael Tillström (born 5 March 1972) is a former tennis player and coach from Sweden. Career He represented his native country as at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, where he was defeated in the third round by Switzerland's Roger Federer. Mark Woodforde
Mark Raymond Woodforde, OAM (born 23 September 1965) is a former professional tennis player from Australia. He is best known as one half of " The Woodies", a doubles partnership with Todd Woodbridge. Woodforde was born in Adelaide, and joined the men's professional tennis ATP Tour in 1984. Woodforde won four singles titles, including his hometown Adelaide tournament twice. His best singles result in a Grand Slam was reaching the semi-final of the Australian Open in 1996, his 38th Grand Slam singles tournament, which remains a record for the longest time taken to reach a maiden semi-final. Marcelo Andrés Ríos Mayorga (; born 26 December 1975) is a Chilean former professional tennis player. He was ranked as the world No. 1 in men's singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), the first Latin American to reach the top position. Ríos won 18 ATP Tour-level singles titles, including five Masters events, and was the runner-up at the 1998 Australian Open. Nicolas Kiefer (; born 5 July 1977) is a German former professional tennis player. Michael Te-pei Chang (born February 22, 1972) is an American former professional tennis player and coach. He was ranked world No. 2 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in 1996. Chang is the youngest man in history to win a singles major, winning the 1989 French Open at 17 years and 109 days old.
