Sin (DC Comics)
Sin is a fictional comic book character appearing in books published by DC Comics. She first appeared in ''Birds of Prey'' #92 (May 2006), and was created by Gail Simone (writer) and Paulo Siqueira (artist). Sin appeared as a recurring character on The CW Arrowverse show ''Arrow'', played by Bex Taylor-Klaus. Fictional character biography Sin was introduced when Black Canary made a deal with Lady Shiva. They would switch lives for a year, in which Dinah would train as Lady Shiva had done, while Shiva herself took her position with Oracle and the Birds of Prey. During Dinah's training, she arrived at a village in Asia, which was ruled by a martial arts master known simply as Mother. Dinah was allowed to be trained by the cruel matriarch, though it often came as horrible mental and physical abuse. While there, Dinah met a little girl dubbed Sin (the name may have been created to dehumanize Sin; while training there, Dinah was given the name "Tag", meaning "swine"). Sin was being gr ... Cryptic Writings
''Cryptic Writings'' is the seventh studio album by American heavy metal band Megadeth. Released on June 17, 1997 through Capitol Records, it was the band's last studio album to feature drummer Nick Menza. His departure would mark the end of the band's longest lasting lineup to date, having recorded four studio albums. Megadeth decided to produce the record with Dann Huff in Nashville, Tennessee, because they were not satisfied with their previous producer Max Norman. The album features twelve tracks with accessible song structures, specifically aimed for radio airplay. The lyrics were also altered, in order to make the music more inclusive for wider audience. These changes were met with mixed opinions from music critics, who noted the band moving away from their thrash metal roots. The album debuted at number 10 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and was certified platinum in 1998 by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipping one million copies in the United Sta ... Shan (surname)
Shan () is a Chinese surname. The origin of this surname is not clear. One explanation is that it came from Shan County in Shandong province. Another possible origin involves King Cheng of Zhou's youngest son's acquisition of the name when he was given what would become the Shan state when the enfeoffment system was enacted during the Zhou dynasty. The Shan state existed for a few hundred years before it was annexed by a stronger neighbouring state. It was located in present-day Jiyuan, Henan province. Although the surname comes from the place name, the Shan family was a branch of the royal family of the Zhou dynasty. Its ancient origin determines its rareness and not many people have the Shan surname. According to one unverifiable estimate, about 150,000 people are of the surname. Shan could also be used to refer to the rare surname 𢒉 (). The rare character was unable to be rendered on a computer so people chose Xian 冼 to replace it. People from Gaozhuang Village born aft ...
