Simon Taylor (footballer, Born 1982)
Simon Taylor (born 18 August 1982) is a former Australian rules football player who played with the Hawthorn Football Club in Australian Football League. A ruckman, Taylor was selected by Hawthorn with pick 53 in the 2004 national draft. Taylor prior to playing for the Box Hill Hawks played for the Tasmanian Devils Football Club in the VFL After sharing the ruck responsibilities with Robert Campbell for most of the 2007 and 2008 seasons, he was overlooked for the 2008 AFL Grand Final, with the backup ruck position being taken by Brent Renouf. In 2009, he played 18 games, more than Campbell or Renouf, but was not as effective as earlier years, leading the Hawks to look to recruit a ruckman to replace Campbell who retired due to injury. Box Hill Hawks
Box Hill Hawks Football Club is an Australian rules football club playing in the Victorian Football League. It has an alliance with the Hawthorn Football Club, which plays in the Australian Football League. Early Australian rules football in Box Hill – 1903 to 1935 Organised Australian rules football within the municipality of Box Hill can be traced back to the year 1903. In that year Mr EFG Hodges, the proprietor of the "Reporter" newspaper, founded the "Reporter District Football Association". The six foundation teams were Bayswater, Box Hill, Canterbury, Ferntree Gully, Mitcham and Ringwood. This Box Hill team played on a ground approximately 400 metres south of where Box Hill City Oval is located today, the site is now partly occupied by the Box Hill High School and the Box Hill Cemetery. Wayde Skipper
Wayde Skipper (born 1 March 1983) is an Australian rules footballer who has played for the Hawthorn Football Club and the Western Bulldogs . Standing at 193 cm, Skipper won the 2003 best first year player for his original club the Western Bulldogs. Skipper was drafted to the Western Bulldogs through the 2000 AFL Draft as a 5th round selection, number 70 overall. Not noted for kicking goals, Skipper kicked 5 goals in Round 17 of 2005 against Geelong at the Telstra Dome, with his first being a contender for Goal of the Year, with a left foot banana from the boundary line. The Dogs won the game. In 2007, Skipper took a big pack mark in the goalsquare against St Kilda in Round 18. The goal he kicked put the Dogs in front with a minute remaining.
