Sierra De Los Filabres
Sierra de Los Filabres is the largest mountain range in Almería Province, Andalusia, Spain, measuring in length. Its highest point, Calar Alto, also hosts an important astronomical observatory. Geography The Sierra de Los Filabres belongs to the Penibaetic System and forms the southern limit of the Almanzora Valley. Besides its highest point, the 2,168 m high Calar Alto, other important peaks are the Tetica de Bacares or "La Tetica" (2,086 m), a breast-shaped hill, and the Calar Gallinero (2,049 m). The Sierra de Los Filabres is an eastern prolongation of the Sierra de Baza mountain range in the same system. Breast-shaped Hill

Sierras de las Estancias y los Filabres is a Spanish geographical indication for Vino de la Tierra wines located in the autonomous region of Andalusia. Baetic System
The Baetic System or Betic System () is one of the main systems of mountain ranges in Spain. Located in the southern and eastern Iberian Peninsula, it is also known as the Cordilleras Béticas (Baetic Mountain Ranges) or Baetic Mountains. The name of the mountain system derives from the ancient Roman region of Baetica, one of the Imperial Roman provinces of ancient Hispania. Geography The Baetic System is made up of multiple mountain ranges that reach from western Andalusia to the Region of Murcia, southern Castile-La Mancha and southern Land of Valencia. Sierro
Sierro is a municipality of Almería province, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain, It is located in the valley of the River Sierro in the 'Comarca del Mármol', county of the marble. The name 'Sierro' seems to come from the Latin 'serra' meaning mountain range. Description The village is now mainly populated by descendants of people from Murcia and Albacete, with a few from Castile and the rest from Andalusia. In the 15th century it was possible to distinguish between High and Low Sierro. The village is wedged into a narrow valley. The first road into Sierro was built by Francisco Jimenez Ontiveros, a prominent engineer of the 1930s and 1940s (head of Renfe) and native of Sierro. Chercos
Chercos is a municipality of Almería province, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. The original village (Chercos Viejo) lies about three kilometres south of modern-day Chercos (Chercos Nuevo), clinging to the side of the Sierra de los Filabres. Antonio Sáez Sáez became mayor of Chercos in the 1940s and was the principal architect behind the plan to move the old town of Chercos a few kilometres away, off the isolated mountainside and onto one of the few flat spots in the Sierra de los Filabres. Chercos was by then a mere shadow of what it had once been. By the 1940s it was a village inhabited by an ever-shrinking population consisting of small landowners.
