Shudhu Tumi (1997 Film)
Kazi Morshed (24 April 1950 – 3 October 2014) was a Bangladeshi film director. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director for his film '' Ghani'' (2006). Career Morshed started working as an assistant director in the 1970s. Later he joined Bangladesh Betar as a program producer. He returned to the film industry under the guidance of the filmmaker Amjad Hossain. Bangladesh National Film Award For Best Director
National Film Award for Best Director () is the highest award for film directors in Bangladesh, presented annually at Bangladesh National Film Awards ceremony by the Ministry of Information. It is given in honour of a film director who has exhibited excellence directing in Bangladeshi cinema. Since 1975, the award is given annually except in 1981, 1998 and 2003. It is presented by the President of Bangladesh at a ceremony held in Dhaka. The 1st National Film Awards ceremony was held in 1976, and Narayan Ghosh Mita was the first awardee of this category for directing the film '' Lathial'' (1975). ''Ghani'' () or ''The Cycle'' is a 2006 Bangladeshi film directed by Kazi Morshed. The film won National Film Awards in 11 categories. Plot Afsu and Shamsu are brothers living under the rule of a local landlord. Afsu leaves the business of bullock driven oil mill due to his old age complications but Shamsu continues it due to poverty. Shamsu along with his son Bozlu engage in their forefathers' traditional business in full swing. In the meantime, Bozlu marries Moyna. Their lives start revolving around the Ghaani (oil mill). One night, the bullock gets stolen from their house by some thieves. They now use Moyna to spin the treadle. Bangladesh Betar (; ), is the state-owned radio broadcaster of Bangladesh, initially established as the Dhaka station of All India Radio in 1939. It was later made part of Radio Pakistan. Amjad Hossain
Amjad Hossain (14 August 1942 – 14 December 2018) was a Bangladeshi film director, actor, scriptwriter and lyricist. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director twice, for the films '' Golapi Ekhon Traine'' (1978) and '' Bhat De'' (1984). He also won Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2004 and Ekushey Padak in 1992. Early life Amjad was born in Jamalpur, Bengal Presidency (now Bangladesh). He began his creative journey through writing, starting with poetry. His first poem was published in the renowned magazine '' Desh''.
